If your cool 4×4 that can take you everywhere is boring you because it seems to be missing that oomph, you can try this 2014 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 for size.

It is one of 100 examples built by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, between 2013 and 2015, and yes, it has two extra wheels for a total of six. This Mercedes-Benz is up at Bring a Trailer and raking in quite an interesting following.

This 2014 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 is not just rare, it has also been on BaT before, making this auction its second rodeo. Back in December 2021, it went to its current owner for a cool $1.35 million, and even then, carried a listing as an 8,000-mile 6×6. It bears the same numbers on the odometer now, which tells us the current owner did not care for a drive in it. And that’s because this truck came into the US under a “show or display” exemption on import, which means that you can drive the car, but only for 2,500 miles a year.

The listing states loud and clear that NHTSA must approve the transfer of ownership before the title changes hands. “The buyer must also apply for a new “show or display” approval from NHTSA and provide current photos of the truck.”

Any bidders and buyers can only drive this vehicle for 2,500 miles per year and the NHTSA can come and inspect it anytime, until the vehicle is 25 years old.

The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6 Is A Powerful Beast

It’s a shame to waste all that power, though, considering the twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter M157 V8 assembled by AMG, with an additional Brabus B63S 700 conversion. This takes the total power up to 700 horsepower and 708 lb-ft of torque, with power sent to all six wheels through an AMG SpeedShift 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and five electronic differential locks.

The increase in power comes from modifying the turbocharger housings to accommodate larger compressor wheels and also changing the exhaust manifold, and more.

According to the service records, the owner replaced the differential lock intensifiers, front brake pads, brake fluid, and a propeller shaft in 2021, and the battery in 2022. The car also comes with a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.

The current bid stands at $475,000, although there’s still a week left to grab this beast that some people found rather expensive and others loved to bits.
