Something that a lot of us certainly feel is true is that Tesla’s are not the most exciting looking cars on the market. While there is no denying some of their good qualities, they are quite average to look at. They look just like your typical car, with very little apart from the badge to hint at them being Teslas. Old-school gearheads have been put off with most electric cars. But thankfully, tuning houses are looking to really shake things up a bit. They want to make these rather average electric cars look cool.
There probably isn’t a better design house to tune a Tesla Model Y than Novitec. Novitec are able to take pretty much any car and greatly enhance how it looks and how it performs. Not only has the company really worked hard on the aesthetics, but the electric crossover now features improvements to its suspension setup. This has all given the Tesla Model Y a much more aggressive fascia and stance and makes you wonder why tesla couldn’t make it look so good in the first place. Novitec certainly know how to create a work of art.
Getting The Practice In With Their Tesla Range
This is not the first time that Novitec have worked on a Tesla. The company has already worked its magic on the Model S, Model 3 and the Model X and enhanced the appearance of all three of them. Now, they have turned their attention to the Model Y Crossover. One of the standout additions to the electric car are its naked carbon fiber parts. These are on full display right from the off, with the front lip spoiler adding aggression as well as reducing the front-axle lift. So it is functional, and not just for show.
Novitec clearly want as much extra performance out of the Model Y as possible. So at the back, we can see a new spoiler for the liftgate and a diffuser on the back bumper. Not only do both of these components add extra aerodynamic performance, but they give the rear of the Model Y a much sleeker look. These all beautifully link up to the side skirts that run along the side of the Model Y. These themselves also link up nicely with that new front lip spoiler. They all mesh well to really bolster the Tesla’s appearance.
Making A Drab Crossover Look Good At Last
Novitec don’t stop there with the upgrades either. The side also reveals some rather dramatic wheels, as part of the new aero package. These are 22-inch forged wheels that look sensational in the images the tuning company has provided. These wheels have 255/30 tires at the front and 285/30 tires at the rear. When it comes to the appearance of the Model Y, they certainly enhance the appearance of the crossover. The Tesla now has a very aggressive look and quite the mean stance, a sharp contrast to its normally timid exterior.
The new wheelset though, like the other components, is not just about cosmetics either. Novitec state that the handling of the Model Y is now improved thanks to this new set of wheels, but the tuning to the handling keeps going. The suspension is also reworked on the Model Y. Novitec giving the Tesla height-adjustable aluminum suspension. This is only available for the dual-motor versions of the Model Y. This helps to make what is not the most agile vehicle in the world much nimbler. The ride-height is also lowered by some 40 mm, which in turn helps the improved aerodynamics of the car.
The Ultimate Way To Tune A Tesla Model Y
Thanks to that change in aerodynamic performance, the efficiently ratings of the Model Y may well go up as well. Novitec state that the electric energy consumption of the Model Y can get reduced by as much as 7%. This is thanks to that new suspension the company has put on the Crossover. These are highly impressive achievements for what is a relatively simple way of tuning the Model Y. Not only do they add extra styling elements to the car, but these changes also have a very positive effect on the driving experience of the Model Y.
Finally, Novitec Gives Us A Cool Looking Tesla Crossover
There are a variety of customization options available for the inside of the Tesla too, to make it that bit more unique to you. All of these changes to the Model Y sound incredibly positive, as Novitec looks to improve on what is otherwise a mundane EV. Many of Tesla’s products are outshone by rival cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and the Honda e. But they do at least offer a competent EV as an alternative to a gasoline powered car. Novitec have finally made it that you can have a Tesla, and one that also happens to look good.
