Carbon fiber always plays the lead role as a niche element when the customization work on a supercar gets planned, and the same goes for the McLaren 765LT Spider customized by Novitec. The German tuning specialist has enhanced the presence of various aerodynamic-bettering panels on the car’s exterior with a touch of carbon fiber, which makes it look more performance-specific while taking care of the overall weight of the 76LT Spider.

Novitec used carbon fiber for garnishing the headlamp inserts and N-Largo trunk lid. Even the scuff plates for the rocker panels and air intakes on the side profile got tweaked with carbon fiber. The next highly talked about visual element of the McLaren 765LT Spider customized by Novitec, which also serves as a weight-reducing measure, is the design of the alloy wheels. Developed in collaboration with Vossen, the 9Jx20 front and 12Jx21 rear alloy wheels feature exquisite forging and machining techniques and get a seven-spoke design available with a polished finish or in one out of 72 different color options. While the front alloy wheels get 255/30 ZR20 tires, the rear alloy wheels come wrapped with wider 335/25 ZR21 tires.

Under this package, Novitec is also offering multiple choices of leather upholsteries and Alcantara to make the cabin of the McLaren 765LT Spider feel even more personalized and quality-driven.

Boosted Performance From The McLaren 765LT Spider's Heart

The McLaren 765LT Spider has a glorious 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine powering it, which in its stock version claims 755 hp of maximum power output and 590 lb-ft of peak torque output. In its stock guise, this engine is capable enough to catapult the McLaren 765LT Spider from 0 to 62 mph in 2.6 seconds and attain a top speed of 205 mph, making it the fastest road-spec McLaren convertible ever.

Under this project, Novitec has just given its fine touch to this already-bonkers twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The Novitec engine tuning package for the McLaren 765LT Spider consists of three levels through an N-Tronic plug-and-use auxiliary control unit adapted to the 765LT Spider’s electronic engine management system of the supercar. Due to this, the car has received exclusive mappings for ignition, injection, and boost pressure control.

Apart from the tweaks done to the engine, the McLaren 765LT Spider tuned by Novitec also receives in-house developed sport springs, which help to reduce the ride height by around 0.78 inches and thus enhance the overall driving dynamics of the car.

Here comes the icing on the cake of this entire customization work carried out by Novitec in the McLaren 765LT Spider, or should we say, the main ingredient of the batter. This exclusive McLaren 765LT Spider gets bestowed with a thermally-insulated ‘Novitec Race’ high-performance exhaust system featuring ceramic-coated turbo inlet pipes.

Taking this exclusive exhaust system and the engine remaps, this McLaren 765LT Spider now claims a maximum power of 855 hp and a peak torque output of 662.3 lb-ft – almost 100 hp and 72.3 lb-ft more than the stock version. In addition, it is faster to the 62mph mark from standstill by 0.1 seconds (it does 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds) while reaching the 124.2 mph mark in 6.7 seconds. Also, it has a top speed over the 205 mph barrier, thus making it faster than the stock version.

The sophisticated exhaust routing of this Novitec Race high-performance exhaust system creates a much raspier exhaust note while enhancing the overall performance of the 765LT Spider. The thermal insulation of this exclusive exhaust system gets bettered by an even more exclusive 999 finer-gold plating. While the stock car gets a titanium exhaust boot, this customized version’s exhaust system is made from the INCONEL alloy usually used in the manufacturing of exhaust systems of Formula 1 racing cars.

The exhaust system here also features 100-cell sports metal catalysts for enhanced performance. Even the visual appeal of this exhaust system looks better due to the use of four 90mm tailpipes with carbon embellishers and fine gold plating.
