The McLaren GT represents a sports car evolution of the grand tourer, featuring a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. It is underpinned by the platform that also is found underneath the McLaren 720S, but not as powerful as the Super Series car. After offering tuning kits for the 720s, Novitec is now offering a series of upgrades for the McLaren GT, making it sportier and nearly as powerful as the Super Series. Let’s see Novitec’s version of the McLaren GT.

Almost As Powerful As The McLaren 720S

The main highlight of Novitec’s upgrades for the McLaren GT is its plug-and-play auxiliary control units offered in three separate performance kits. The most powerful of these kits includes the Novitec N-Tronic module and the Novitec Race high-performance exhaust system. This kit results in greater acceleration, higher top speed as well as faster throttle response.

When the Novitec N-Tronic kit is added, the 4.0-liter V8 engine powers up from 612 hp (456 kW) and 465 lb.-ft. to 697 hp (520 kW) of max output and 527 lb.-ft. of peak torque. With this new figure, the McLaren GT can trim its 0-60 mph sprint time from 3.1 seconds to 3.0 seconds and up its top speed from 203 mph to 207 mph.

Aerodynamics Upgrades Abound

Aside from the power-up kits, Novitec is also offering a number of bodywork components – all born from the wind tunnel -- meant to boost aerodynamics while enhancing the elegant sporty looks of the McLaren GT. All these bodywork components feature a naked-carbon fiber finish.

Up front, Novitec’s aero offerings for the McLaren GT are headlined by a two-piece front bumper: a chin spoiler and carbon surrounds on the outer air intakes. On the sides, the GT can be fitted with Novitec rocker panels as well as carbon scoops for the upper side air intakes. The rear section can also be fitted with the three-piece Novitec carbon rear spoiler.

Ride Closer To The Ground

The company also offers lower ride heights for the McLaren GT up to 25 mm with its Novitec sport springs. These are complemented by Vossen-sourced Novitec MC3 wheels (front, 20 inches; rear, 21 inches) wrapped in 245/30 ZR 20 front and 325/25 ZR 21 rear rubbers. All of these upgrades are now available at Novitec!
