Hyundai has very much been on a roll recently in terms of new car releases. The new N range of high-performance cars has stolen the headlines, with the Kona N and the Veloster N just being a small part of that range. But the company is not resting on its laurels yet and has now released the first teaser images of its all-new B-segment crossover SUV, the Hyundai Bayon, which is set for a full reveal in the weeks to come before it’s made available in the first half of 2021.

Hyundai released the images in a press release, saying that the new Bayon will “incorporate Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design identity, combining emotional value with innovative solutions in design.” The images give little away, being done in low-light but also giving enough of a glimpse of the new car that we can see its clean lines and what Hyundai also described as a high-tech look. Two teaser images show the front and rear of the car.

If we focus on the front, we can see that there is an air intake band going across the whole width of the front of the car. Wide and narrow DRLs are also prominent, generating some width to the car and as the light fades towards the bottom of the front end, we can just see that the grille opens up quite a lot, giving quite a wide stance to the Bayon. The lights have a unique and distinctive look, which are separate from the DRLs of the car.

We then turn our attention to the second teaser image of the car, which focuses on the rear end of the Bayon. The rear lights are perhaps even more distinctive than those on the front. They are arrow-shaped, and there is a thin red line stretching along the back of the car which connects the two sets. The rear taillights are quite far out on the side of the car, giving it an even wider appearance. Hyundai first announced the Bayon in November 2020, and it will form the entry model in the Hyundai SUV lineup for Europe. It is an all-new model, and more details will be revealed over the coming weeks.
