As Tesla continues to score high sales year after year, we can see more and more of its flagship EVs on the street. Although the Model 3 still beats its siblings in popularity, others are not falling too far behind. The Tesla Model Y, for instance, may even top the Model 3 in sales this year.

Based on the Model 3 sedan platform and inspired by the larger Model X, the Tesla Model Y is an electric compact crossover with stable performance and a sleek design. Most buyers find it easy to love due to its size, driving range, and vivid driving spirit. The estimated driving range is 303 or 318 miles, the top speed 135 and 155 mph, and the 0-60 acceleration 3.5 or 4.8 seconds (depending on the trim). The actual question here is, what's there not to like?

Well, while this is all nice, the Tesla Model Y actually does have a couple of drawbacks, just like most other machines out there, and not everyone will be ready to live with them. You can read more about these potential issues in our other articles. Today, we want to explore the Tesla Model Y's spartan interior.

Don't get us the wrong way, we don't see the interior of the Tesla Model Y as an issue. There are too many great things about it to even think of making such an insinuation. However, not everybody may like it, so if you want to find out whether the Tesla Model Y's spartan interior is for you, follow our review.

When it comes to the layout of the Tesla Model Y's interior, the chances are 50/50 whether you'll like it or not. Everything is sleek and simple in this electric crossover, from the seats to the infotainment system. There are no buttons and knobs, luxurious touchups, or anything else that would seem like an extra feature. Base stripped, the Tesla Model Y's interior feels minimalist and spartan all the way, so if you want luxury and an old-fashion driving experience, you may want to look for another vehicle altogether.

But if you like the futuristic layout or think you could get used to it, the Tesla Model Y's interior won't disappoint you. The large center touchscreen display will let you operate driving and entertainment features, the seats will provide enough support and comfort, and the solid cargo area will allow you to pack all your necessities.

Moreover, you can choose a third row during the vehicle build and have seating for seven passengers without sacrificing anyone's headroom or legroom.

The Tesla Model Y's sleek interior revolves around a 15-inch touchscreen located at the center of the dashboard. Anyhow, the Tesla Model Y's infotainment system includes all those standard features you may expect from a modern EV, such as navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, HD Radio, Bluetooth, four USB ports, wireless charging, a 14-speaker audio system, and similar. Notably, there's no Apple Car and Android Auto connectivity, but you can use other apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. Maybe even more importantly, you can play video games, which can come in handy during vehicle charging.

You can opt to add the Full Self-Driving Capability to your new ride as well, which is basically an advanced driver-assistance system with all the mentioned and some extra capabilities. However, keep in mind that Tesla cars are still not there yet with fully autonomous driving.
