One of the most controversial things that you might have seen in the car world, is the fact that there are hundreds of extremely expensive and rare cars that are just left abandoned in Dubai. There're images circulating that show some of these super rare and expensive vehicles that were just left either at the airport or simply hit with fines or the recession.

Dubai and the UAE are some of the richest places in the world, and many of these wealthy people don't have limits when it comes to spending. This reflects when it comes to their taste in high-end exotic cars - where you might be seeing the highest concentration of super cars in the world, in one city. Plus keep this in mind, not only are the residents sporting these cars but so is the police force. You can see that in Dubai, there aren't many limits when it comes to how much you spend on your cars.

Each of these cars on the list are some of the rarer rides that we've been able to find abandoned in Dubai. Some of these cars range from the $100,000s and even more!

You'll find that there are a number of high-end Mercedes Benz, Ferrari types, Lamborghini models, and even some very uncommon cars that you might not expect as well. Dubai has a very diverse car scene and is a very rich culture, but these are some of the most expensive and rare vehicles that were left behind in Dubai.

25 "Eleanor" Shelby GT500

Via Supercar Chronicles

Another extremely famous and equally as rare ride is the Shelby GT500 of the 1960s. This one is in the famous styling of the "Eleanor" GT500 from the hit movie, Gone in 60 Seconds.

Aside from the rarity of a movie styled GT500, this 1965 Mustang is a rare collector car in itself aside from being paired with how the movie car was. This makes this Shelby GT500 even rarer. Unfortunately, like all of the cars on this list, it was left by its owner in Dubai.

24 Honda NSX-R

Via Tynan.com.au

Another unfortunate NSX that was left by its owner in Dubai. This car is actually equipped with the Type R trim, which is even rarer than the original NSX.

Not only did Honda give this car a Type R treatment, but they also made it so that only a limited number of NSX-R cars were made at the time, to help increase their collector value. During the 90s, Honda created the NSX to be a serious competitor to some of the world's supercars of the time, and they created this beauty.

However, this yellow NSX-R won't be fully appreciated since its owner left it.

23 Lamborghini Miura

Via Supercar Chronicles

This car is one that Lamborghini created in the 60s and 70s that you might not know of. However, this one is even rarer as it's in a hot pink color which was made popular by Lamborghini during the model years of this car.

Unfortunately for this one, it was left by its owner in Dubai and at that, the emblems were stolen - plus it was vandalized by people while it was waiting for its owner to return and claim it. This would make a great addition to any collection if you could claim it!

22 Peugeot Rally Race Cars

Via Ebaumsworld

Now, this is something that you don't see very often, even in Dubai! This is a trailer full of Peugeot rally cars that was left by their owners in Dubai.

Not only are these some of the most iconic rally cars of the 80s and 90s, but they are also rare to find in any condition - let alone good condition like these seem to be under the dirt and dust. Unfortunately, these won't be seeing the road any time soon, as their owner left them for good.

21 Toyota F1 Race Car

Via Ebaumsworld

Among some of the more odd cars that have been left by their owners in Dubai is this Toyota F1 Race Car. This car has seen better days on and off the track, unfortunately as you can see all it does now is collect dust. You might have seen this in someone else's collection of high-end cars - this F1 Car was just left to rot in the harsh elements of the UAE.

Who knows, maybe this car could have been a part of racing history. But we'll never know.

20 Nissan Skyline R34

Via AutoTrader

Now, this is a sad sight. This Nissan Skyline R34 was just left by its owner in Dubai. Not only is this one of the most famous JDM cars in the world, it is extremely sought after by enthusiasts and collectors alike. Not to mention this yellow color is rare for a Skyline.

Unfortunately, like many of the other cars left by their owners, this Skyline R34 was left in Dubai to slowly get covered in dust and dirt before anyone will be back to claim this beauty again.

19 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4

Via Autogespot

Another Dubai airport find is this Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4. This one was just left in the parking garage at the Dubai airport by its owner as they departed.

Not only is the LP610-4 rarer than the base model Huracan, it fetches a significantly higher price tag of over $300,000 new. This car has an upgraded engine, special brakes, and wheels - plus the prestige of being a special model Huracan.

Unfortunately, this owner won't be able to show this beauty off since they left it behind.

18 Lamborghini Murcielago

via Car Throttle

This is another one of those cars that you wish you didn't see just left high and dry by its owner in Dubai.

The Murcielago is one of the Lamborghini types created in the 2000s that ended up becoming an extremely iconic car. Even though the model years did not last very long, this car made its mark on the industry and continues to influence the design of Lamborghini cars to this day. For this to collect dust and dirt, is simply a travesty.

17 Honda NSX Race Car

Via Ebaumsworld

Heading back to the world of JDM imports is this Honda NSX race car that was left by its owner in Dubai.

The Honda NSX was one of the most decorated race cars that Honda produced in the 1990s and early 2000s. They competed in some of the most competitive cup car circuits in the world and managed to win a lot.

This unfortunate race car was left abandoned by its owner in Dubai, left to collect dust and overall rot away, not having any glimpse of its former glory as a decorated race car.

16 Jaguar XJ220

Via Arabian Business

Considered a hypercar of the 1990s, the Jaguar XJ220 was one of the fastest cars in the world, able to reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. This at the time was an extremely rare achievement by any automobile manufacturer in the world.

To see this car which is easily over $million in value abandoned by its owner in Dubai is a harsh visual to take in.

Not only is it left to the elements, but it is getting completely submerged in dirt and dust which I'm sure doesn't help the value of this car at all.

15 Mercedes CL550

Via AutoEvolution

Talk about a serious Mercedes!

This beauty was left abandoned at the Dubai airport and still sits there collecting the already copious amount of dust that it has.

Not only are the CL550 one of the higher end models offered by Mercedes, but they are also the car of choice for many businessmen and athletes alike around the world. Sometimes these are just bought while in Dubai, and left after the owner takes a flight elsewhere.

14 Mercedes CLS AMG

Via Tynan.com.au

Another top-tier Mercedes just left at the airport. This time it is the CLS AMG that met its fate after the owner left the car at the Dubai airport abandoned.

The AMG line that Mercedes has sported for decades is their top end performance line of the luxury cars and SUVs. Each is equipped with a powerful engine (in this case a twin-turbo V8), and upgraded brakes, handling and more.

Not to mention these cars generally start at $100,000 and up, which seems like a huge waste to leave this beautiful car.

13 Mercedes G-Wagon

Via EvAuto

Rounding off the Mercedes that were left by their owners in Dubai is this G Class Mercedes SUV.

Now keep in mind, this isn't just another SUV, this one has proven for years to be a rugged and luxurious SUV used by millionaires and other personnel around the world.

Unfortunately, this G-Wagon met its maker when left by its owner in Dubai. You can see that it has been sitting for a while simply by the amount of dirt and dust that accumulated on it.

12  Porsche 718 Boxer

Via YouTube

Transitioning back to the world of Porsche is this Porsche 718 Boxer that was left by its owner in Dubai.

Not only is the Boxer one of the best handling cars that Porsche ever made, but it was also the most affordable Porsche on the market for years. Which made this a perfect car to transition into being an autocross or road course race car.

Unfortunately for this Porsche 718 Boxer, it can be seen here left in the elements with no signs of life anymore. This is a sad fate for this extremely well balanced Porsche.

11 Porsche 911

Via Oppositelock.kinja

These Porsche's from the 1970s are becoming more collector cars than anything else in recent years. Unfortunately for this Porsche 911, it is only collecting dust as its owner left it in Dubai.

These were some of the most unique vehicles on the road at the time, the Porsche 911 was one of the best sports cars in the world. It could be seen racing in LeMans, the Rolex Series, and more. Plus it held many different records not by just being a great looking car, but an extremely powerful one with its turbocharged engine.

10 Porsche 993

Via Steemit

Also coming in with the Porsches that were left by their owners in Dubai is this beautiful 993. This car was left by its owner in the Dubai airport, where it continues to collect dust instead of being on display, or proudly driven by its owner.

Porsche created the 993 to have the ultimate sports car in the world, and for this pristine condition, the 993 to be left by its owner in the Dubai airport is a tragedy in itself. Hopefully, this owner will be back to claim this, before its too late.

9 1965 Porsche 912

Via The Drive

Another one of the rarest Porsche's you can find in the modern era is this 1965 Porsche 912. Not only was this car abandoned, but it was left high and dry by its owner in Dubai.

This generation of Porsche has been one of the most iconic sports cars of the 60s and 70s and has since turned into one of the rarest collector cars that you can buy. Oftentimes you can find a pristine 912 for well more than a brand new car.

Unfortunately, this 912 might never see the day again.

8 1990s Bentley

Via Bentley Spotting

Now, something you don't see very often is an old school Bentley. We manage to see the new Bentley's a bit more often than these, but that doesn't make this any less rare.

This 1990s Bentley was left by its owner in Dubai, unfortunately, it might not ever see its glory days again. But with a bit of luck, maybe they will return to it.

Keep in mind that Bentley has been around for decades, creating some of the most luxurious cars in the world. This one being no exception to this either, but we will never know the story behind this one.

7 BMW M6

Via a Day in the Life of Dubai

It's no secret that BMW has created some of the best performance cars in the world for many years which has attracted some of the wealthiest people in Dubai to purchase these machines.

This BMW M6 was left by its owner on the side of the street in Dubai. Not to mention this car is rare being in the Coupe format, but the color isn't one you see every day either.

It is unfortunate that this is a common visual to see when you are cruising through Dubai and see some of the nicest cars just left by the owners.

6 DMC DeLorean

Via Oppositelock.kinja

The DeLorean is one of the most famous cars of the 80s and 90s from the hit movie series Back to the Future. This time I don't think Marty or Doc ended up making it back, because this rare beauty was just left by its owner in Dubai.

Keep in mind this car was rare back when it was new, not to mention how rare it is to find one today. This one didn't have the Back to the Future style, but it still is a special car that was left by its owner.
