Did you know back when Chevrolet was developing the Camaro in 1965, it was codenamed as 'Panther'? It was designed to take on the Ford Mustang and shared its platform with the Pontiac Firebird. And over the years, Chevrolet has sold over 5 million units of the Camaro.

Keeping the facts aside, the Camaro has grown on to become one of America's favorite pony cars as well as a muscle car. This is the reason why it is quite popular within the tuner community as well. Stay tuned as we list down some of the insane builds.

The two Camaros you see here actually belong to the rental fleet of Hertz. Having teamed up with Hendrick Motorsports, Hertz will have over 224 Chevy Camaros at select locations. The black and gold Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in the movie Smokey and the Bandit is a popular icon. This is why Trans Am Depot made this special edition Chevrolet Camaro SS in the spirit of the movie. The best part of this was that the car was endorsed by the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds.

It has a custom black leather interior with Burt Reynolds' signature on the dashboard. Movie-inspired touches to the interiors make this car special and the 840hp, 7.4-liter supercharged V8 under the hood 6-speed manual transmission just makes it better.

via Carbuzz

This is the first electric pro drift car! It's a standard Camaro underneath but the engine and transmission have been replaced by an electric powertrain. This Camaro EL1 makes 515hp and 800lb-ft of torque from the moment you tap the accelerator paddle.

Napolean Motorsports has used a lot of carbon fiber on this car gives it mean look and keep it lightweight too. The American flag's stripes and stars livery just makes things even better. But the best part is going to be watching this car go sideways burning rubber without any engine sound.

5 Coleworx Camaro Rock Bouncer

via www.musclecarsandtrucks.com

This was another one of Ringbrothers builds at SEMA last year named 'VALKYRJA' and according to them, this is the 'most extensive car' that they've ever done. Reason? The body panels of this 1969 Camaro are entirely made of carbon fiber and were made using 3D moulds!
