Depending on whom you ask, some cars should never be modified from their original state. Call it "sacrilege" or "insane" if you will, but we've seen what the right type of upgrade can do to a car, regardless of what it may be.

Believe it or not, any carbe it a classic JDM car or modern supercarscan benefit from a tasteful mod, especially if it comes from a reliable tuner such as Mansory or Vorsteiner.

Not all will agree with this bold claim at first, but we've got some tempting examples to back it up. Namely, ten popular sports cars that have been transformed by beautiful body kits.

10 Rocket Bunny Subaru BRZ

Why not kick things off with a very popular sports car and body-kit mix: the Rocket Bunny Subaru BRZ. After all, just about any modern-day car enthusiast should be able to immediately recognize one when they see it.

The BRZ is a relatively slow car stock, especially when compared to others on this list. However, with the Rocket Bunny widebody kit and an engine swap (or a lot of mods), it transforms into a worthy sports car. One that can drift, race, and outperform even the brand new A90 Supra!

9 2020 Liberty Walk 35GT-RR

Along with the Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Aventador, the Nissan R35 GT-R was among Liberty Walk's first major builds. A lot has changed since then, including their own GT-R's design. Now, it's called the "35GT-RR."

The new and improved LB Works GT-R is much more than a few bolt-on fenders and a spoiler now. It sports a brand new front-end design, carbon-fiber accents/components, front canards, ground effects, and so much more!

At first glance, you could hardly tell it was a regular GT-R. Heck, it looks even crazier than the NISMO model already is.

8 Prior-Design PD971

When Porsche first unveiled the Panamera sports-wagon, we (and many other automotive enthusiasts) were dismayed by its ugly appearance. Thankfully, Porsche has improved the Panamera's looks over time, leading to the current model, the '971'.

We thought it couldn't get much better than that, but then Prior-Design came around and shattered our expectations. Unlike the Mansory Panamera, the Prior-Design alternative is less gaudy and more refined. It appears as though it actually has a purpose instead of just adding unnecessary weight.

If we had the funds and a Porsche 971 to modify, we'd gladly hand the keys over to the gents at Prior and let 'em do their magic.

Oh, we're not done talking about Rocket Bunny just yet. If we're on the subject of body kits that have transformed a car's appearance, few have done so as effectively as Rocket Bunny's Nissan 240SX Silvia (S14 body).

As we'd stated in a previous passage relating to this very same Rocket Bunny S14, "[They] basically turned the 240SX into an American muscle car lookalike." Even we were shocked that this was actually a JDM sports car and NOT a miniature Chevrolet Camaro.

6 Misha Designs Ferrari 458 Italia

While Liberty Walk, Mansory, and Vorsteiner were plunging forward with their newfound popularity, another company was doing the same, albeit to a lesser degree. Of course, we're talking about Misha Designs and their Ferrari 458 Italia.

At first, we kind of hated Misha Design's Ferrari 458. The rear-end seemed so alien to what it was originally intended to be and that harmed our (then) fragile sensibilities. Nowadays, though, we've come around to just their type of wild, outlandish way of thinking.

5 TopCar’s McLaren 720S Spider

As great as it must be to be a wealthy car-lover, it most certainly has its downsides. Chief amongst them is due to the ever-updating selection of sports cars. Before you know it, the supercar you just bought is now outdated—completely outclassed by the recently unveiled successor.

This, dear reader, appears to be what happened with many McLaren 720S owners after hearing of the latest McLaren 765LT. Like technology or a smartphone, every year marks a new, better version. To avoid being beaten (in both looks and speed), you can always mod your supercar to spice things up a little.

Pictured above is TopCar's take on a reworked McLaren 720S Spider. It has all the extra pieces of the 765LT, as well as more of what the 765 doesn't such as a different exhaust and more exterior components.

4 LB Works Lamborghini Miura

"Nobody would dare do a widebody kit on something as rare as a Lamborghini Miura, right?" Well, we thought so, too, until those madmen at Liberty Walk subverted our expectations yet again.

Yes, you're reading this correctly. Liberty Walk made their own Lamborghini Miura. However, that's with an emphasis on "made their own," as this isn't an authentic Miura, but a kit car (thank God). Still, it looks convincing enough and gives us an inside look at what a modded Miura could look like. And, to be perfectly honest, we like it quite a lot!

3 Le MANSORY

If you thought Liberty Walk or Rocket Bunny were expensive body kits, those pale in comparison to the likes of Mansory: a German tuning company specializing in the rarest, fastest, and most luxurious cars on the planet. For 2020, they showcased their own version of the Ford GT dubbed 'Le MANSORY'.

What's immediately noticeable is the front-end’s appearance. Both the Mansory Aventador SVJ and Le MANSORY seem to share the same type of headlight designs. Beyond that, Mansory dropped the stock spoiler for their own, along with replacing much of the body panels with exposed carbon-fiber accents.

Too bad a Mansory kit itself will cost as much as most sports cars will, yet just imagine the resale value and rarity!

2 Creative Bespoke’s Porsche 911 Turbo ‘Flatnose’

As happy as we are to see exotic body kits become more popular in the car community, the market gets a bit diluted over time; everyone throwing their hat into the ring to make (or be) the 'next big automotive trend.' One such designer to be a little overshadowed is that of Creative Bespoke and their custom builds!

Our favorite of theirs, bar none, is this Porsche 997 Turbo. As you can see, it's no ordinary 911 Turbo, but a 'Flatnose' version. Inspired by the Porsche 930/935 Flatnose models, Creative Bespoke took that aesthetic and applied it to a 21st-century Porsche. They were a bit ahead of the curve, so to speak since Porsche later re-released their own Flatnose: the 2019 Porsche 935.

1 Mansory Siracusa 4XX Spider

Autogespot

We'll admit it, ever since they released the original Ferrari Siracusa Spider we've always had a bias in favor of the Mansory tuning company. Now, imagine our joy when we heard that they'd be bringing back the Siracusa, now named the Siracusa 4XX.

Everything that could've been improved with the previous Siracusa was done so with the 4XX replacement. Namely, there's the aerodynamics package and front grille, which looks far better and more natural on the Ferrari 488's body.

To add to that, they even included a Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta-style stripe down the center. With awesome callbacks and references to other Ferrari/Mansory models, it’s the cherry on top.
