When we think of pickup trucks, we think of the United States. The pickup truck has perhaps, in some ways, become the official vehicle of the United States. Pickup trucks are some of the most versatile machines on the planet, although they have become more polarising recently and perhaps rightly so, as they are mostly gas-guzzlers and too big for what some people use them for. The big utility bed on the back, though, is perfect for carrying large loads and transporting stuff all over the place, from point A to B—wherever those points are.

They are also heavily associated with country singers and, indeed, many country singers do have a pickup truck in their garage and even as their daily vehicle in some cases. They fit in with the persona of a country singer and in fact, a few songs have been written about pickups by country singers. 'Blue Tacoma'? It was written about taking a road trip in a blue Toyota Tacoma. It is an interesting topic and certainly fun to see who owns which vehicle, and which each vehicle's merits are.

Of course, with such a huge range of vehicles available, not all have been purchased by the country singers. Your biggest ones are, of course, coming from Chevrolet and Ford, plus GMC and Dodge. But the odd Nissan or Toyota has slipped through the country singer net, too. This list comprises 18 pickups that are owned by country singers, plus a couple of examples that have been overlooked by some of the more popular country singers out there.

20 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup - Miranda Lambert

There is nothing better than a classic pickup truck and the 3100 from Chevrolet really is no exception. Miranda Lambert, an award-winning country superstar, decided one day to purchase a classy, old 3100 pickup truck to add to the family. The 3100 is an incredibly stylish and pleasing vehicle, more so than most trucks nowadays. The truck wasn’t in the same class as the Cameo Carrier, but it was nonetheless a very good vehicle. Its 145-hp V8 engine was a lot for the day, and produce a lovely rumble to the truck. Lambert certainly got lucky picking up such a sweet vehicle.

19 Ford F-250 - Jake Owen

Jake Owen is not only a country singer but also a producer and has a great balance when it comes to ballads and party songs. He is also quite a car fan and owns the mid-range variant of Ford's F range, the F-250. The F-250 is slightly beefier than the F-150 but not quite the juggernaut that is the F-350, or even the F-450. The F-250, naturally, has more power than its smaller cousin, and it can produce between 385-440 horsepower, which is a staggering amount for a pickup but perhaps needed given the size and weight of such a vehicle. The four-wheel-drive system is one of the best that you can find on a pickup and it comes with three different body styles to suit whatever it is you prefer looks-wise.

18 Chevrolet Suburban Concept - Luke Bryan

This is certainly one of the more unusual machines on this list and not one that would normally make a pickup list, but here it is. Luke Bryan has sold more than seven million albums and twenty-seven million singles worldwide and his success caught the eyes of Chevrolet. They teamed up with him to create the Chevrolet Suburban concept. The Suburban is an SUV vehicle, but it also has truck utility, making it a very unique vehicle. Bryan got his very own special model of the truck, complete with a crazy paint job and mad wheels and rims. It will certainly be the talk of the town wherever it goes.

17 1985 Chevrolet Silverado - Chase Rice

There has often been the argument, when buying a Chevrolet Silverado, that it isn’t too good to always buy a new edition of the truck because sometimes, the older models are just that little bit better and a lot more durable. Well, Chase Rice certainly thinks so, as he is the owner of a 1985 Silverado that has clearly done him proud over the years. It was the first truck that he ever owned and thus a special bond was formed with the truck. Before rising to fame with albums such as ‘Ignite the Night’, Rice was actually a member of a NASCAR pit crew and owns several pickups but his favorite is certainly the 1985 Silverado.

16 1977 Ford Bronco - Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson is an incredibly famous country singer, so famous that many people know who he is without knowing his music. Not only though does he love music but he also has quite the taste for classic cars. And one of those cars in his collection is a 1977 Ford Bronco. Whilst not outright a pickup truck, there are variations that turn it into a pickup truck and it is certainly a little oddball. It's short and rather stumpy size makes it a unique attraction and it would certainly stand out among the Silverados and F-150s of the world. There isn't really anything quite like a classic truck

15 Chevrolet Silverado – Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean is a two time nominee for the CMA/ACM/Grammy Song of the Year and is known for some amazing shows and songs. But when it comes to his personal vehicle, he chose the Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado is one of the most popular pickup trucks currently on the market and the model has been around for a good few years. A 6.2-liter V8 produces a lot of horsepower and the Silverado is one of the most reliable trucks that money can buy, even if Aldean’s is a 2012 model of the truck. You can’t go wrong with a Silverado.

14 Ford F-150 - Danielle Bradbery

21-year-old Bradbery is famous for being discovered on The Voice, the hugely popular singing show, which has spawned versions in other countries, such as the UK. And she decided that the best car for her lifestyle was the Ford F-150 pickup. The F-150 is an equally popular pickup as the Silverado. In fact, it is probably more popular than the Chevrolet. Its towing capabilities are phenomenal and the pickup has gone through a plethora of changes since being introduced many years ago, its origins being traceable back to 1948 and the Ford Bonus. Bradbery is sure to get many years' work out of this truck.

13 GMC Sierra 1500 - Kid Rock

Kid Rock has been on the music scene for around two decades now and has produced some fantastic country songs. To go with his songs, he also has a very handy truck, as he chose the GMC Sierra 1500. The Sierra 1500 is perhaps not in the same sort of league as the F-150 and the Silverado but it is still an extremely versatile variant and one of the most popular in the United States. Kid Rock’s was actually customized but the base model is still very, very good for those after a big and tough truck. Its ruggedness is one thing that marks it out from a lot of the competition.

12 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - Dean Brody

The baseline Silverado is not the only example of this pickup truck that is offered for sale. In the same way that the GMC Sierra spawned the Sierra 1500, the Silverado range features the 1500, a pickup singer Dean Brody decided to pick up. A lot of country singers seem very happy with this pickup, with its large spacious interior, good safety and reliability, plus an infotainment system. Did you know the pickup also has a WiFi hotspot? I didn’t, either, but it does! The 1500 offers that bit more luxury and comfort over the base Silverado and, of course, comes with a higher price tag—but it would appear to be worth it.

11 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71

Thomas Rhett is a musician and husband whose song ‘It Goes Like This’ became a big hit in 2013. Not only are his songs big hits, but so is his truck. Rhett bought not only a Silverado but the huge Silverado Z71 pickup. The Z71 is a beefed-up version of the 1500 Silverado. It is essentially a ‘sports’ version of the truck, featuring 355-bhp engine, an eight-speed transmission and a crazy 0-60 time of just 7 seconds. That is an insane speed for a large pickup truck, something that is quite unheard of! It even features Bluetooth pairing, USB options, and Sirius XM radio, which are big pluses in the modern age.

10 Ram 1500 - Eastern Corbin

Eastern Corbin has been called a country singer who just has the perfect voice for singing. His albums and singles set new standards in the world of country music, and have led to Ram partnering with him and giving him a Ram 1500 pickup truck. Not mentioned quite in the same realm again as the Silverado and F-150, the Ram 1500 is a very versatile machine with a real workhorse pedigree, so it can withstand the toughest of jobs and still get you home safely and in good time. The model has continued to grow to this day, with the 2019 edition of the truck perhaps being one of the best pickups available on the current market.

9 Dodge Ram - Charlie Daniels

Charlie Daniels, at 81, is one of the last remaining old-school country-rock legends. He began making a name for himself in the mid-1960s and is still revered across the United States. Daniels is also the proud owner of a Ram truck and it is his everyday machine. The Ram is one of the most comfortable pickup trucks there is, with an extremely comfortable cabin and an amazing ride, and with the added bonus of very good gas mileage, even for a pickup truck. The truck even has WiFi connectivity, something unthinkable when Daniels started making and producing music.

8 Nissan Titan - Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton met Gwen Stefani and then his career blossomed. But his debut was in 2001, and his career quickly catapulted him up in the world and he is one of the most famous country singers in the United States today. He is also the proud owner of a Nissan Titan, perhaps a more unusual decision given the plethora of GMC, Chevrolet, and Ford pickup trucks currently in other country singers' garages. But the Titan is a solid machine from Japan and one that should certainly be taken seriously. Shelton did take it seriously, and it has done him well. If it does the job, surely that’s all you need?

7 Ford F-350 Super Duty - Toby Keith

Toby Keith is another country music legend. With 19 studio albums, two Christmas albums, and five compilation albums, he is surely one of the most recognizable names in the USA. And so is his pickup truck, the F-350 Super Duty, which is the F-350 on steroids. With maximum towage and a dualie rear axle, the F-350 can take on pretty much anything and come out in one piece. The size, when lined up next to an F-150 or F-250, is evident, and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who thought the F-350 couldn’t do any job thrown at it.

6 2014 Chevrolet Silverado - Kip Moore

There isn’t much that Kip Moore can’t do. He can certainly sing and sing well. His album ‘Up All Night’ was the bestselling debut by a male artist in 2012 (and 2013, as well) and he decided to treat himself to a wonderful 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado range certainly has grown and grown more over recent years and the 2014 model is still a very good vehicle to get, despite now being four years old. It has a very good towing capacity and churns out a very handy 285 horsepower, a great figure and close to some performance-car levels as well.

5 Ford F-150 King Ranch - Scotty McCreery

You might be surprised to hear this but there are even sub-variants of pickup trucks that have spawned larger models. Enter the Ford F-150 King Ranch, the pride and joy of country singer Scotty McCreery. His success saw him win American Idol in 2011 and from there, he saw his career take off. The King Ranch is a slightly more refined version of the basic F-150 whilst not going over the top in size like the larger models. It can go from 0-60 in just 5.9 seconds and packs a whopping 395 horsepower which is an insane amount of power and in a truck smaller than an F-250, as well.

4 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn - Kellie Pickler

Kellie Pickler is an illustrious country singer, having sold over 900,000 copies of her debut album and worked with some of the largest international singers in the world, including Taylor Swift, who of course herself sang some wonderful country songs. Pickler has a Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn truck, a special edition of the Ram 1500 pickup truck. The Longhorn boasts superior efficiency over the more basic model and has a lot more style and flair to it, as well. Perhaps it is just exactly what a very famous and successful country singer needs. Various premium upgrades are also available for what is already quite a premium vehicle, although that, no doubt, is going to increase the price tag just a tiny bit.

3 Chevrolet Blazer - Brian Kelley

Brian Kelley is the proud owner of a Chevrolet Silverado, one of the most popular trucks in the world. But that isn't the only truck that he owns. He also owns a Chevrolet Blazer, and a classic one at that. Whilst nowadays a much more typical SUV, the 1970s version of the Blazer was also a pickup truck and it was even a convertible truck as well. That isn't something that has translated well into the 21st century and only various special machines would appear to be convertible trucks these days. But like Jackson's Bronco, they stand out from the crowd and perhaps catch the eye a lot more than a modern-day Silverado.

2 Jeep Wrangler - Tim McGraw

This is the only Jeep in this article and that is because the Wrangler isn't actually a pickup truck. But again, conversions do wonderful things. Customized slightly, this is actually a 1978 vintage truck and is another eye-catching machine to add to the list, along with the Blazer and Bronco. And it is owned by Tim McGraw and it spawned his relationship with Faith Hill. So much so that, when they got married, she tried to track down the exact Jeep that Tim was driving when their relationship started. McGraw had, at the time, been just borrowing the car from a stagehand. It was the perfect anniversary present for the couple.

1 Ford E-350 - Hank Williams III

This really isn't a pickup truck, but it is close enough and way too cool to not include in this list. The Ford E-350 is a van but Williams III decided to do something special with his. He sent it to Essentially Off-Road in Tennessee to essentially create the ultimate off-road carrier. The big van now has the off-roading capabilities of a pickup truck. The ride quality has been massively improved to make it as comfortable as possible off-road, and it can sure carry a lot of goods. Think of it not so much as a van-come-pickup truck, but a pickup truck with a van's rear end. Because that is what it, essentially, is.
