Long before political correctness reared its socially dominant head, most folks bought Playboy magazine to see what the featured models inside looked like unwrapped. Now, in a twist of irony, one of those models is going the opposite route, as in wrapping her highly-prized Dodge Challenger. That would be Miss October 2003, who more commonly answers to Audra Lynn, who went to Metro Wraps in Hollywood, Florida, to give the exterior of her 2020 Challenger 1320 SRT set of wheels a whole new look. How that went over was released Wednesday on YouTube.
This Dodge Has A HEMI V8
Lynn's Challenger is a pretty sleek wonder, but the gazing quickly goes to gaping when you see what's under that hood. This Dodge is loaded with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 kicking out some 485 horsepower and 476 pound-feet of torque, propelling this muscle car from zero to 60 mph in roughly four seconds.
So, from the point of view of its owner, who hit the big time playing up her epidermal layers, her Challenger should get a new skin worth looking at as well. Frostbite blue is the main color on this beast, with heaping splashes of fluorescent green that form the backdrop for a series of embossed abstract designs, including the iconic Playboy bunny logo. For sure, Lynn will never forget the organization that first made her famous.
Four Cars Wrapped So Far
But it turns out Lynn is a bit of a freak when it comes to customized exteriors. So far, she's had four cars receive the Metro Wrap treatment and she has two more slated to get the same upgrade. On this particular Challenger, she came up with the designs and color combination before approaching Metro about how to get the results she was seeking.
"We chatted about it," said Lynn. "And then the wrappers put the art and science together and they make it happen. It's a team effort."
But don't expect Metro to be totally forthcoming about how they work their miracles. Take that bunny logo, for instance. Lynn was so stoked that the image was in 3D and wanted to know how the crew pulled off that feat. But it turns out that's a company secret.
Lynn Just Bought A 'Cuda
Speaking of which, Lynn knows more about cars than she lets on. It turns out her father was a gearhead whose favorite car was a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. Interestingly, Lynn added that was one car she just recently bought and will likely bring to Metro for a visual upgrade. And... that's a wrap!
