As a project manager, Jan is responsible for bringing all the different departments together to create the thoroughbred race car unveiled as the 911 GT3 Cup racer. Jan himself is part of a larger project management team for GT race cars within Porsche Motorsport, of which the core business is customer racing. He knows that the secret for success in customer racing basically entails teamwork.
Whenever a new GT race car project is started, the bottom line, has always been what the customer wanted. While customers wanted a more aggressive car with more race car looks, the most important aspect is making them feel like they're part of the car.
Dream Spirit: It Takes A Team To Win
Thus, for Jan, the most important part of a GT race car is the interior, as it needs to be designed in a way that the driver can focus on driving and the mechanics can work on it – with nothing in the way. Jan emphasized the value of teamwork in motorsport; everything needs to be done in high quality. Porsche has always been serious when it comes to the value of teamwork especially within its customer teams.
If the engineer failed to set the car right or if the mechanics failed to work properly on the car, the driver had no chance to win a race. The same is also true in reverse. It takes a team to achieve a dream in motorsports, which is why Porsche calls such concept "dream spirit." Without teamwork, winning remains a dream.

As for Jan, he always looked up to the guys wearing the Porsche dress on the racetrack, wishing that one day he could wear the same. Now, that dream came true and he's in charge of a huge project that's considered as the core of Porsche's customer racing business – the new 911 GT3 Cup race car.
