The Black Rifle Coffee Company recently produced a short film titled Sand & Sky with the aid of frequent collaborator BJ Baldwin. It set out to do more in minutes what the Fast and Furious franchise did in hours’ worth of cinema with a chase scene between a Porsche sports car and a 900-HP trophy truck.

And it is the most epic chase scene you would want to see today. There's a distinctive factor that makes each and every frame of this video explosive. So much so that we wish for a movie to unravel from this face-off between a sports car and a wild trophy truck.

An Introduction To A Sinister-Looking Porsche 911

Opening on a smoky lot, viewers are greeted by a Porsche 911 Turbo S shooting past the camera in a cloud of dust. The camera then cuts to the interior, where we see BJ Baldwin behind the wheel asking his passenger, Mat Best, what their next move is. This is when we are introduced to the goal. They have to find a stolen truck and retrieve some missing coffee. But with finding out Baldwin’s next move, an intense, rumbling shot sees the Porsche’s power race up to ten down a wide-open empty street.

Speeding down the street, the honk of a truck is heard, and the 640-HP Porsche’s turning prowess comes on full display as the tires screech around an almost 90-degree bend. The car’s power is pushed from the ten to an eleven as an eighteen-wheeler truck enters the driver’s path, forcing the brakes to be hit and allowing the steering to shine again as they race under the truck’s wagon.

Sparks fly as they scrape underneath the truck in an insane slow-motion shot as the Porsche manages to remain on track. Out from under the truck, Baldwin is told to remain on the path they are on, to where he is given the detail that they are headed, “To where the sand meets the sky.”

A Heavy Hitter Of An Opponent In A Sturdy Trophy Truck

It is at this point Baldwin and Best’s chase opponent enters the scene, suspended higher than the Porsche on raised axles. The Black Rifle Coffee-branded trophy truck looms over the Porsche in an almost Mad Max-style design with hulking tires chained to the flatbed. It flaunts a positively devilish paint job and, as stated in the behind-the-scenes credits, more than 1,100 HP. The high-octane chase then begins, and we find out that the drivers of the trophy truck clearly have the same goal as Baldwin and Best.

We are then offered a rare moment of calm in a solitary shot of a street sign that lays out the rule of “No Dust” and a speed limit of ten. It takes seconds for these rules to be broken. The signs are bathed in dust in an explosion following the beginning of the chase that takes us to the first location. It is a disused quarry with a mountain of old mechanics, all teeming with intricate design. We see the trophy truck show an intense display of drifting capability as it stirs up another wave of dust through the quarry.

It narrowly avoids destruction as it shoots under a conveyor belt, only for it to take out a gas valve, losing a plume of steam and gas. BJ states that he and Best need to lose the truck mere moments after a shot of the truck gaining massive airtime. It flies over the Porsche and a number of containers as the gas ignites into a fireball in the background. This is the moment we understood that this short video has bested most of the Fast and Furious movies!

The Porsche is then forced to stop for an oncoming train, only for the trophy truck to screech by. Feeling as though they’re falling behind, Baldwin and Best immediately take action, slamming the Porsche into reverse and spinning in a 180 as the truck continues parallel to the train, only to clear it in another epic jump, showing off its incredible suspension capabilities once again.

Nail-Biting Action To The Very End That Rivals Fast And Furious

We cut to a shot of sprawling sand dunes before returning to the crazy trophy truck, seemingly on track to win and showing all the ways in which the Porsche 911 is outclassed in both speed and power. The truck throws a tsunami of dust over a couple of unsuspecting dune buggies before it launches itself into the air, over a “No-fly zone” sign. The Porsche joins the trophy truck in the desert shortly after, with Baldwin and Best now going what they proclaim to be “going full Rambo”.

The chase reaches its climax as the Porsche pushes through the desert sand to be the first of the competitors to reach the truck. Not to be outdone, the trophy truck displays one final show of power by soaring through the air again, over the Porsche a second time, and reaching the truck only moments after the Porsche.

And shockingly, when the occupants of the Trophy truck are revealed, they are none other than BJ Balwin and Mat Best. Yup, this stays true to showing what the Black Rifle Coffee Company states for its beverage being so strong that there are "two of you". Just as Baldwin is about to make his final statement, the Porsche shoots off into the desert, and we are met with the words “To Be Continued”, hopefully making for a second round of this epic chase that we can’t wait for. The Black Rifle Coffee Company managed to deliver in under 10 minutes what the Fast and Furious franchise aims to deliver in an entire movie.
