Porsche AG, the high end German car manufacturer specializing in sports cars, sedans, SUVs, and now electric cars as well, introduced its Drive and Drive and Host Programs in Germany starting in 2014. The U.S. introduced the service last year offering peer to peer sharing and rental services for its automobiles. Due to the success of the program, the Drive rental service has filtered out to other markets across the globe. They've now just opened their first Drive service in Asia based in Tokyo, Japan.

3 What And Where

The service is located in trendy Toranomon Hills in Minato and provides domestic and international customers the opportunity to rent a 911, Cayman, Panamera, Macan, or Cayenne. Rental packages start at a minimum of four hours of rental time on up to two days and three nights. This schedule was selected to optimize the benefits of the rental program and needs of its customer base.

Porsche has modified the program since it was first introduced in Germany 5 years ago. Now customers have greater customization options and the flexibility to tailor a rental package that meets their needs. There's also a subscription service available for the adventurous to try a range of Porsche automobiles. The "Porsche Host" program in the U.S., for instance, enables ride sharing with provider Turo.
