During the current COVID-19 pandemic, several establishments, including the Porsche Museum, have to close their doors to visitors. This was primarily done to ensure safety not just of the general public but also of their employees. With new protocols in place and sans any crash,  the Porsche Museum is again opening its doors to visitors starting March 16, 2021, with two new special exhibitions in place.

Visitors will find various changes to the exhibits at Porsche Museum. For instance, the Porsche 956 is now located at the Historic Motorsport section. Derivatives from all six Porsche 911 models are placed on interactive turntables at the ‘Consistent’ station at the museum. All six models feature red illuminated lines to visually depict their Porsche design DNA.

Meanwhile, the Multimedia Guide section -- which features extensive information about the cars in the exhibition -- has been redesigned to work with the Android 8 OS, with a larger display with Full HD+ resolution. A children's version of the Multimedia Guide 2.0 is available. Since the exhibits in the permanent exhibition are changed on a regular basis, the Museum has produced new audio content for all 210 vehicles inside.

Featuring a curved driver-oriented screen and a 911 GT3 Cup steering wheel, the simulator is equipped with high-performance pedals, racing seat and the D-BOX Motion System that moves the driver sideways, up and down, forwards and backwards.
