The Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R is legendary in the JDM world. There are many things we love about the Nissan GT-R R34, but the total package of power, handling, and styling set it apart from ordinary vehicles.

With these factors in mind, it makes a lot of sense why the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 is now so expensive.

Prices for a Nissan Skyline GT-R continue to increase, and low mileage examples are selling for over $300,000. While stock examples are rare and expensive, other tuners and enthusiasts have a different approach to their R34 Skyline builds.

In a YouTube video by B is for Build, a wrecked Nissan R35 GT-R receives the body from a Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R in record time, making it a unique build.

Rebuilding A Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R

The B is for Build YouTube channel is famous for some incredible car builds that seem nearly impossible. An LS swapped Lamborghini Huracan, a BMW M5 powered Nissan 240Z, and many others are the reason why their channel has over 1 million subscribers.

For the Nissan R34 GT-R build, the goal is to take the mechanicals from the newest generation GT-R(R35) and fit the Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R body on top.

One complaint about the R35 GT-R is its weight. The R34 GT-R is considerably lighter than its successor. The tricky part about this build is making a twin-turbo V6 engine layout fit where a twin turbo inline-6 engine started.

Another big difference between the two cars is the transmission. The previous-generation Nissan GT-R uses a standard 6-speed manual, while the new Nissan GT-R uses a dual-clutch transmission.

As seen in the video, there is a lot of custom fabrication to make a project like this a success. Remember that the newest generation R35 GT-R is longer, wider, and overall a bigger car than the previous generation. By cutting and welding the two wrecked cars, they gave life to something entirely new and unique.

A custom wide body kit fits nicely over the newer hardware and looks like it came from the factory. In the end, the build is successful. With more power and less weight, this Frankenstein GT-R is a seriously fast and fun machine.

In the auto enthusiast world, many are asking about a new Nissan GT-R. Similar to the Nissan 370Z that was in production from 2009 to 2020, the latest GT-R has a similarly long life.

The current GT-R has seen improvements throughout the production life, but even that car is starting to show its age. With the success of the new Nissan Z, executives could green light a new Nissan GTR. Hopefully, we will find out some concrete news in the near future.
