It’s not surprising that many Chevrolet fans are waiting for the Corvette ZR1 of the C8 generation. After all, the ZR1 represents the peak of the Corvette. For now, the C7 ZR1 remains the latest iteration of the ultimate Corvette.

Chevy built less than 3,000 examples of the Corvette C7 ZR1 during the sports car’s production run. One of these examples is now in the good hands of YouTuber Street Speed 717, and he is enjoying every thrilling driving moment. In fact, he doesn’t hesitate to race his Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1 even against a potent Tesla Model S Plaid on the streets.

A 1,000-HP Tuned Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1

A 2019 Corvette C7 ZR1 has so much to offer that it could beat most cars on the road. It comes loaded with an LT5 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers 755 hp of max output and 715 lb-ft of peak torque. It’s pretty powerful at this point. There are stock C7 ZR1s that could sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds, as well as those that could achieve a quarter mile time of under 10 seconds.

But the black Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1 of Street Speed 717 isn’t stock. Since acquiring this Batmobile Chevy, Street Speed 717 has been upgrading it with the help of Late Model Racecraft (LMR) to deliver the horsepower he needed to go fast not just on the road, but also on the drag strip. In fact, Street Speed 717 recently won against Mod2Fame’s 1,300-hp 2019 Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat Redeye.

Chevy Vs Tesla High-Speed Racing On The Highways

Currently, Street Speed 717’s Corvette C7 ZR1 is around 1,000 hp of max output after a new set of upgrades from LMR. Winning against a 1,300-hp SRT Challenger Hellcat Redeye is already a big deal and this should give Street Speed 717 more confidence against another rival. He found this rival in the persona of Trackslayer’s Tesla Model S Plaid, which should be making almost the same output as the C7 ZR1.

It’s mesmerizing to see a Corvette C7 ZR1 slaying a Tesla Model S Plaid at high speeds and is a win for powerful V8 American muscle.
