Porsche, once the archetype and hallmark of petite and quick automotive fun inevitably gave way to various other types of car – the sports car brand evolved into a marque that also sells crossovers, SUVs and EVs.

Its SUVs and crossovers also offer performance for families and long journeys, but they can’t possibly be as fast as the real deal: the Porsche 911.

Luckily, prolific drag racing Brit Mat Watson and his channel CarWow over on YouTube decides to coral all the different models of Porsche possible into one place for a showdown.

It will either make the purists very happy or shed a tear or two - so we check out the video briefly to see if it will be such a straightforward win for sports cars.

The Every-Porsche-Drag-Race Is A Runway Full Of Style

There will always be the naysayers, but the lineup is an impressive one; it features all the current models of Porsche in their fastest trims.

First up is the Porsche 911 Turbo S with 650 hp and a 3616-lb weight, next to it is the Porsche Taycan with 761 hp and a 5060-lb weight.

Following these two cars is a Porsche Panamera Turbo S with 630 hp / 4586 lb-weight, a Porsche Cayenne GT with 640 hp / 4894 lb-weight and a finally a Porsche 718 Boxster with 400 hp and a 3164-lb weight alongside the Porsche Macan GTS which sports 440 hp and weighs 4321 lb.

As we can see, the specific power outputs of the cars and their masses vary wildly as do the physical size and type of vehicle.

The team suspect that the Porsche Taycan EV will make piecemeal of the others due to its instant power and 2-speed gearbox, but it is also relatively heavy.

There are 3 standing-start races in which the 911 predictably pulls ahead of the others every time, followed by the quick Taycan in second place.

The Porsche Macan GTS suffers a very bad start in the first race followed by the Cayenne’s terrible start in the second race.

For the third race the Porsche 718 Boxster and Porsche Macan GTS show themselves to be the slowest of the bunch mainly thanks to their lower power outputs, but the rolling race will make some changes.

Interestingly, in the 50-mph rolling-start race with all cars set to comfort mode, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S pulls right ahead – due to its instant torque and the fact that the Porsche 911 Turbo S has to drop gears to accelerate efficiently.

Saving the best until last we learn the shocking truth of the fastest-braking car here in the 100-0 mph braking test.

Porsche’s Cayenne wins despite its mass, followed by the Porsche Panamera and 911, with the others taking even longer and the Porsche 718 Boxster being the slowest car to stop.
