The Engine of the 2022 Toyota Rav4 TRD

It is safe to assume that there will not be any changes to the engine that is offered on the 2022 TRD. At the moment, the Rav4 line has only one engine option which is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can give up to 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. On the standard Rav4, the power of this engine runs through an 8-speed automatic transmission and out to the front wheels which makes this compact SUV a standard Front-wheel-drive car.

However, the TRD off-road Limited as well as the Adventure trims offer an all-wheel-drive system. This makes the TRD option better for those who want to take the car off-roading or adventuring through rougher terrains. The All-wheel-drive system will shift power from the front to the back and then side to side to ensure that you have optimal traction.

At the moment all Rav4 models include the following features and it is not expected that these features will change in the 2022 year models:

-Automatic Emergency Braking

-Active lane control

-Adaptive cruise control

-Automatic high beams

With the current TRD, you get extra driving modes to select from such as snow, mud, sand, downhill control and more. It is expected that these driving modes will be the same in the 2022 year model.

The interior of the car is pure luxury! The current TRD comes with a panoramic moon roof which is safe to assume will come with the 2022 year model as well. It is gorgeous and makes off-roading that much more exciting at night.

The dashboard and infotainment system is modern which means that you get all the latest in technology. When it comes to the space that the SUV offers, it is a spacious car that can seat 5 people comfortably. You can have a lot of luggage in the car as well. There are plenty of compartments that can hold all your small items for safekeeping.

There is nothing wow on the interior of the car but with that being said, it is still a Toyota so you can feel that the material used in the interior is good quality and you do not get the plastic feel which is great.

The TRD version of the Rav4 is meant to be the off-roading version of the car series. With that being said, there are a few add-ons that this trim has that the other Rav4 models do not.

For starters, you get 18” wheels which are designed for all terrains. You will also get access to a better infotainment center which includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-fi hotspot, and more.

If you look at the outside of the car, you get raised black roof rails which gives the SUV a unique look and premium stitching that includes ‘TRD’ in the headrests to make sure that everyone knows which trim you decided to buy.

Finally, you also get special suspension tuning which is designed to make your off-roading experience better and more smooth.
