For years, Ford occupied a niche spot in the market with the F-150 Raptor. Recently, other brands have begun to catch onto the fact that consumers love the concept of a wildly powerful desert-runner with high-travel suspension, aggressive fender flares, and knobby tires. The result has been models with additional trim packages including the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and the Jeep Gladiator Mojave, though neither of those trucks can truly compete with the Raptor's twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6.

Now, after years of speculation, the Ram Rebel TRX looks poised to take the Raptor on with a supercharged Hemi V8 sourced from the Charger and Challenger Hellcat variants. And a leaked series of photos from The Fast Lane Truck shows some key features and one hilarious easter egg.

Get It?

The Ram Rebel TRX emerged as a concept way back in 2016, so why exactly Fiat-Chrysler has waited this long to release the production version remains something of a mystery. Obviously, fans of high-powered pickups have been waiting with bated breath as little bits of news have appeared across the internet. The TRX (get it? T-ReX?) should take the Raptor's recipe and one-up it significantly, if the 700 and 800-horsepower ranges of the Hellcats are anything to go by.

The Fast Lane Truck claims the truck will have additional features like "Trailer Steering" via a knob, which wouldn't be all to dissimilar from Ford's own "Pro Trailer Backup Assist" feature. But the Easter egg is the best part, without a doubt, showing the to-scale outlines of a human, a pickup truck, and a T-Rex chasing down a smaller dinosaur.

Remember Jurassic Park?

Kids who grew up in the last three decades will remember the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park being scary dinosaurs with long claws and quick reflexes. Tyrannosaurus Rex, however, reigns supreme—which is exactly what RAM will be betting on whenever the truck actually does see the light of day.
