Supercars are astonishing automobiles and some models have been built so sophisticatedly they were thought to be renders. Also, they are extremely rare and expensive, which is why most enthusiasts seldom have them in their fleet. Unfortunately, supercars won’t become cheap anytime soon, as the components and technicality involved in their production will always get them priced out of reach of average car owners, with the majority having to settle for regular cars.

On the bright side, regular cars aren’t all that bad—with the right mod, they could be made to perform almost as greatly as supercars. Nonetheless, while modification seems to be the quick fix, regular car owners can also benefit from some digital customization. With wild imaginations and large doses of extreme creativity, incredible artists have turned regular cars into adorable supercars through digital rendering and the examples highlighted here are some of the coolest we’ve seen.

9 Volkswagen GTI

The latest Volkswagen GTI has cool updates in comparison to previous models. However, in 2015, Volkswagen released images of a digital GTI supercar specifically created for PlayStation 3’s Gran Turismo 6.

Along with the digital rendering, the company also provided official specifications for the digital supercar; these include a 503 horsepower VR6 TSI mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that transmits power to all four wheels. Its aerodynamically optimized body also features broad shoulders, massive air intakes, and a large diffuser.

8 Mitsubishi GTO

via PerformanceDrive

The last GTO from Mitsubishi rolled out of the Okazaki-based factory in 2000. However, this rendering from artist Matthew Parsons gives us a digital peek into what could be should Mitsubishi ever decide to resurrect the model. Parsons calls it the Mitsubishi 4000GT, and it looks like a befitting successor to the original GTO.

Also, the render took some inspiration from the original GTO as seen through the wrap-around rear windscreen, the full-width taillight, as well as some unique cues from the front and rear overhangs.

7 Toyota Supra

via AutoEvolution

In the ‘70s, Toyota wanted to compete with the Ford Mustang. As a result, the company introduced a more powerful version of the Celica—it was called the Celica Supra. However, many people believe Toyota only got the competition right several years after the introduction of the A80, also known as the MK IV, for its incredible speed and relatively lighter body.

In honor of the model, car renderer wb.artist20 created this modernized version of the A80, he tagged it as the 2021 model.

6 Saab

This futuristic design of the Saab was created by Gray Design, and they called it the AiroX Autonomous Concept. We must admit it doesn't look like any automobile previously made by Saab, save for a little resemblance in the front grille.

via AutoGuide

Gray Design created the AiroX after getting wind of Saab's proposed return to automotive fabrication. The design is focused on futuristic aerodynamics while incorporating design elements from Saab's fighter jets and its advanced AI technology.

A couple of notable supercar designers have attributed the inspiration for the sleek curves and awesomely beautiful exterior on their supercars to the female body. Likewise, artist Alex Imnadze also revealed he created this awesome render of a futuristic Alfa Romeo through inspirations from the female body.

Furthermore, he added that he got some design clues and more ideas from the original 1952 Disco Volante and the Alfa Romeo 6C produced from 1927 to 1954.

4 Tesla

Undoubtedly, several enthusiasts would love to see Tesla models produced as a supercar. In line with this, Jennings Motor Group created this rendering of a Tesla supercar to whet enthusiasts’ appetites until Tesla produces an actual example.

The rendering has Tesla's unique front fascia while other parts depict the aggressive aerodynamic qualities of a supercar. Also, we particularly love the big wheels and tires, as well as the exquisite white paint on the car.

3 Mini

The Jenning Motor Group also worked its rendering magic on the Mini—a car that’s well known for its cuteness. However, with this supercar rendering, not only has the Mini retained its cuteness (at least for the front fascia), but also added performance packages as well.

Like most supercars on this list, the rendered Mini retained the frontal design and structure from the original Mini, thereby maintaining the car's identity. Also, the sleek aerodynamic transition from the mid-section to the rear makes the car more desirable.

2 Mazda RX-7

via EutoEvolution

BradBuilds takes no prisoners with most of his renderings and this widebody sample made of the Mazda RX-7 is a classic example of such. Over 800,000 units of the Mazda RX-7 were produced from 1978 to 2002 and such numbers make it the perfect car for a supercar version.

The rendering is quite extreme with a front fascia that makes it look destined for a role in a sci-fi movie. The location of the mirror might seem unfeasible, but the color choice and every other detail on the render make it extremely desirable.

1 Toyota Avalon

via AutoEvolution

The Toyota Avalon is one of the most “well-rounded” full-size sedans currently in production. The car offers quite a massive cabin space, comfortable ride quality with loads of standard advanced safety features. In a world where SUVs and pickup trucks are getting all the love, Toyota isn’t backing off with its sedan, even offering it as an all-wheel drive.

Therefore, digital artist BradBuilds brought imaginative prowess to the Avalon’s design by giving it an awesome race-inspired widebody kit through this beautiful rendering.
