Electric vehicles are very much all the rage right now, and companies are trying hard to make their own versions stand out. Honda recently launched the E, and they gave it an incredibly retro and clever look. This harked back to the days of the early Honda Civics. Now, another retro-styled EV has entered the scene. Alpha Motor Corporation has revealed the Ace, a brand new EV and one with incredibly cool retro styling, that harks back to 1970s cars and looks just as cool as the Honda E.

The Ace has been revealed in a fantastic silver livery that has been called “Blue Seraph” and it is a rather fetching metallic finish. Alpha said that the Ace balances versatility, performance, and sustainability and they hope this will help reduce the world's carbon footprint.

The car is built on a modular vehicle platform and is an extension of another of the company’s eagerly anticipated cars, the Icon Electric Utility Vehicle. The car will feature comfortable seats and compact rear seats that will allow for extra rear storage. The Ace will also have a central display and user interface controls.

Despite its small size, they are hoping it will have a fantastic range of around 250 miles. Acceleration could be around 6 seconds, and of course, being an electric car the torque and power delivery will be instantaneous. Michael Smith, Alpha Motor Corporation Chief Executive Officer said, “The ACE™ Coupe is for consumers who desire a sleek ride with the versatility, energy efficiency, and environmental friendliness of an electric vehicle.”

A Radical Departure

Mr. Smith continued, “ACE™ is a departure from contemporary automotive and places emphasis on mobility for the user. Alpha is rethinking automobiles for the sake of innovation that moves humanity. ACE™ was created from the perspective of technology that empowers individuals and their lifestyles.”

The company has its work cut out for it, as the car will need to be affordable so that it can appeal to the masses. But, as with Honda's electric car, its looks may well be the unique selling point that the company needs to make it a top-selling car.
