The turbo Porsche 911 of the 1980s is one of the most iconic variants of the fabled sports car. The 930 variant was manufactured from 1976 to 1989 and is much sought after when one comes up for sale. One way to make it even more desirable is to customize it to set it apart from every other 930 Turbo out there. That is what this is. Listed on Collecting Cars, it is a 930 Turbo dubbed ‘Rinspeed R69’, which was an original UK market 930 Turbo before undergoing a custom conversion with parts from the Porsche 944 to give it an iconic look.

A Limited Run Of Potentially Just 12 Machines

The car is part of the Brunt Collection, having been transformed at Rinspeed in Switzerland back in 1983. The customizations from the 944 are the slanted nose, the pop-up headlights, and the taillights as well. The original color when it left the factory was Petrol Blue metallic, and a tag in the door shut denotes this. Today, however, it is finished in Rinspeed’s Pearl White color, and while there is no official figure, it is believed that just 12 of these R69s were ever built.

Under The Hood It Retains The Porsche Turbo Spirit

via Collecting Cars

Despite the exterior modifications, under the hood, it is still very much a classic 1980s Porsche turbo. It has a 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox, and the odometer says that this Rinspeed R69 has clocked up a total of 69,478 miles. While owned by The Brunt Collection, the Porsche has undergone annual oil changes, plus the timing chain tensioners were replaced in 2018.

Tartan Interior Is Incredibly Eye-Catching

The interior of this car is certainly eye-catching! When you open the door, you will be greeted by a highly original brown leather interior with tartan center cloth panels, and Collecting Cars says it is all in superb condition. There is just small wear to the driver's seat outer bolster and a few odd wear marks but it is in incredible condition. There is even a Panasonic radio cassette head unit in the dashboard that looks period correct. This is an amazing car and a unique example of a 930 Turbo that would be perfect in any Porsche fan's collection.
