We join Richard Rawlings on his YouTube Channel, Gas Monkey Garage And Richard Rawlings. He and his crew head down to Cullman, located in the deep south of Alabama, for some classic cars. At exactly the 2-minute mark, we meet the lovely Robin Wiggins, "The lady with the plan," as Richard calls her.

The Stories Cars Bring Out

The adorable Mrs. Wiggins is keen to get started but explains she has some help from some family members because she knows nothing about cars. Richard seems used to the idea that he will try to scam people, but we have yet to see an example of this from him. He is always fair with his price. Some people do have sentimental attachments to cars and this can often boost their idea of how their car should fetch at market, as we see with the first car. A 1955 Chevy Bel-Air Hardtop.

This car belonged to her late husband, James, who was a police officer for 34 years. Richard tells her that he was a cop/firefighter and medic for 6-8 years and was even shot in the arm in the line of duty. The car starts confidently and screams like a fully restored custom would.

More Cars Including 1984 Chevy Corvette

The second car is a 1948 Business Coupe. These are quite desirable, in their finished state, since these were the moonshine vehicles that started the races we now call NASCAR. Next is a 1984 Corvette. Again, desirable, because in 1983 there was only 1 example of the Corvette made. 1984 is the year that Corvette came back after its first time stopping production.

The next cars are in another garage located down under the first garage. In this garage we find, a 48 Chevy with a chop top. There is also a Honda Goldwing. They head outside for more trucks. We have a 54 Chevy flatbed truck that looks incredibly solid. As Richard explains though, these trucks are incredibly heavy and are not worth the time, money or effort to move them.

Rawlings Makes An Offer

As the Gas Monkey Garage overlooks the cars, Richard is trying to decide on what he needs versus what he wants, and the number to match. Finally, the choice is the Corvette, the Business Coupe, The 4-door Dodge, 55 Chevy, and the Chop-top Chevy. Richard offers a reasonable offer of $40,000, to which Mrs. Wiggins counters at $50,000. They both come to an agreement of $45,000, to which he pays her in a huge stack of bills. Richard also puts in another deal with a friend of the family for an undisclosed amount for an incredible 280Z. As it turns out with was an incredibly worthwhile trip for Richard and the Gang!
