What can a good wash do to a car? Especially if it has slowly accumulated dust worth some 20 years on it? Meet Country Star David Allen Coe's MOPAR, a 1970 Chrysler 300. Although it is a classic beauty, it looks like a beast at least until folks at Gas Monkey Garage get their hands on it.

YouTube channel Gas Monkey Garage & Richard Rawlings brings to you a car wash video unlike another, as you see the vehicle bloom under their TLC. Note, the transformation comes via the Detail Kit available on the GMG website. And this video is all about what it can do, so have a look.

Washing Off 20 Years Of Dirt, Dust And Grease

Richard Rawlings introduces the Detail Kit as the video rolls out. They then talk about how they bought the car from famous country singer David Allen Coe, and that it had been sitting in the garage for 20 years. The car in question is a white 1970 Chrysler 300 although, with the patina coated in dust, the color guess seems dubious at best.

Rawlings admits, this is a pretty big job and promises to detail all the products used to bring back this MOPAR to its former glory. He starts the job pretty stoked and talks about the lineup, with an all-purpose cleaner, bug degreasers, a foamer, a ceramic finish, and a tire cleaner too. After introducing the kit, he leaves the car cleaning into the able hands of Phillip, Kenny, and Victor who get their hands right down and dirty.

Cleaning Up Is A Form Of Art At Gas Monkey Garage

With plenty of jet sprays to get the first layer of dust and grime off, the trio set to work. With the number of different kinds of brushes and cleaning materials around, you’d think this was more a painting project than a cleanup but the guys are nothing but thorough.

The inside gets the same treatment as the outside given the sticky dash and generic 20 years of grime everywhere. The carpets get a thorough brushing too, and the result is a beautifully restored MOPAR with not much needed. Rawlings further said that he’d fix the radio and get in some new tires to pimp it out a bit but other than that, he was proud of their car cleaning kit formulation because it did the job pretty well.

Fans felt it was an oddly satisfying video to watch and seeing a classic get the best of restoration treatment is always a pleasure.
