Richard Rawlings is well-known for starring in the car show Fast N' Loud. More recently, he has gained prominence through his YouTube channel, Gas Monkey Garage & Richard Rawlings. Though for a car enthusiast, it may come as a surprise Rawlings has decided to sell almost his entire collection.

With an estimated net worth of $15 million according to TheRichest, it's likely the hundreds of cars once in Richard's possession made up a considerable fraction of that value. He disclosed in Monkey Garage's latest video how he auctioned off everything including the property that housed his collection. This would likely provide ample financing for Richard's intentions in a new car collection. Though before he moves on with these new pursuits, there are still several old relics that he hadn't yet sold.

Revisiting A Pontiac Tempest And Seven Motorcycles

According to Richard, there remain 107 unsold motorcycles from his collection. Unsold items also include various cars and automotive memorabilia. The trailer that returns to his garage only included seven motorcycles and an orange Pontiac Tempest. He makes his disdain for the Tempest clear. This certainly reflects the inferior popularity of Pontiac's four-cylinder competitor to the Ford Mustang.

Upon reviewing the bikes, there also appeared to be an unmotorized Wizard bicycle. Richard reveals it's a worthless replica. Beyond a Yamaha, GPZ, and two Duke motorcycles, it was truly a Kawasaki and Triumph that Richard praised.

In contrast, his mechanic, Phipps, raved about a Riverside motorcycle produced by Montgomery Wards, a department store company that warned on a fading sticker not to drive the bike uphill at full throttle. The Riverside motorcycle has approximately 4,000 miles. Richard plans to relist it for sale along with the other bikes and the Pontiac.

The Mysterious Arrival Of A Buick Riviera

Despite the need to sell the remaining auction items, Richard was already buying new collection pieces. A 1931 Ford Model-A happened to arrive while on a flatbed, and he purchased the antique on a whim. More mysteriously, Richard discovered a once gold 1971 Buick Riviera, which he had no recollection of buying. It turns out that his team already went ahead with the purchase months earlier and Phipps already replaced its disgustingly corroded water pump.

The two took the Riviera on a test drive and experienced its smooth 455 engine with powered steering and brakes. The car only appeared to possess minor issues. Its detached headliner wouldn't stop sprinkling dust into Richard's hair. There was also an underside leakage after the Buick proved its donut-making worthiness. Nevertheless, Richard appeared quite content to have this Buick. It seems that the pleasant surprise of rediscovering a forgotten purchase is a virtue in owning such a vast car collection.
