It shouldn’t come as a surprise but according to Vanity Fair Shaq’s first impulse buy was a car. Not just any car and not just one car.... Three of them and they were Bentleys! “I was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and there’s a Rolls-Royce dealership in Beverly Hills. I always used to ride by it,” he began. “But one day I just went in. Mike Tyson was in there buying a couple of Bentleys. I had on some shorts and a tank top and flip-flops, and I said to the salesman, ‘Sir, how much does this one cost?’ He said, ‘Can you afford it, sonny boy?’ I was so upset that I bought three Bentleys right there on the spot.”

So that purchase definitely falls under the “won’t afford” category. However throughout the years Shaq has had several other impulse buys of both the expensive and affordable price points. We take a look at both sides in this article. Among the affordable rides includes some of his Slingshots, customized motorcycle, Escalade and heck even his stunning Vaydor. However we’ll also look at the unaffordable rides featuring a boat (his recent purchase), extended Lambos and Ferraris and a Mercedes Sprinter Van fully decked out on the inside.

Without further ado let’s get to it. Here are 10 Shaq rides you might be able to afford and 10 you won’t. Like always be sure to share the article with a friend. We begin with Shaq’s stunning Vaydor that might be a lot more affordable than a car enthusiast might have thought.

20 Can Afford: Customized Vaydor

via welbo.com

What if we told you that one of Shaq’s most impressive rides might actually be in your budget? Granted his new Vaydor is absolutely stunning and it features several top tier modifications. However one can easily replicate a Vaydor type for quite cheap. Buying the Vaydor kit is a lot less expensive than you might think.

According to the Vaydor Exotics website, kits start at an affordable price range of $11,000.

Now the expensive part is putting that kit on an Infiniti G35. However, once again a car enthusiast can find cheaper models for $30,000. This stunning ride can cost under $50,000 depending on how you go about it. That might be a little pricey but given the way Vaydor’s look it's quite affordable.

19 Too Expensive: Customized F650 Pickup

via proboards.com

Thanks to Wade Ford of SuperTruck Shaq was able to purchase the truck of his dreams. This fully customized F650 has O’Neal written all over it. Just prior to the modifications the truck might have been a little too expensive to begin with. It had a value of just above $65,000. Now according to The Drive the value nearly doubled with all the modifications made by the Georgia based company. SuperTruck put up a F650 that looked identical to Shaq's with the same modifications. The price tag was a disturbing one at $124,150 according to The Drive. Unless SuperTruck added some wings that can make it fly on the sides we’ll have to pass...

18 Can Afford: Three-Wheeled Polaris Slingshot AKA “SlingShaq”

via twitter.com

Shaq developed a love for the Polaris Slingshot throughout the years. He has several however the most memorable one has to be this three-wheeled Polaris rightfully nicknamed “SlingShaq”.

This particular Slingshot came with fully decked out modifications made by West Coast Customs, a company Shaq is very familiar with.

The biggest modification is the leg room, clearly there’s a lot more space than a regular slingshot ride. According to Mens XP with all the modifications the Slingshot value was at a modest $25,499. In comparison to the other rides on the list that’s quite affordable especially given all of the modifications.

17 Too Expensive: Extra Customized 4-Seater Polaris Slingshot

via instagram.com

A four-seat slingshot isn’t as pricey as some might think. Underground Auto Styling sold a customized version for a modest $16,000. However taking a quick glance at Shaq’s new Slingshot ride it becomes blatantly obvious that the price tag is likely triple due to all the mods and customs. For a Slingshot that is just way too expensive and not affordable. He purchased the ride from the same company Underground Auto Styling. With the length of the Slingshot extended it almost resembles a darn car! The modifications are quite evident from head-to-toe featuring a new mag kit, blazing speakers at the back, customized seats, built in headlights at the front and the classic "Diesel Mafia" logo on the front. All of that didn’t come cheap...

16 Can Afford: Vanderhall Venice 3 Wheel Roadster

via youtube.com

Another ride Shaq showed off this summer is the Vanderhall Venice 3 Wheel Roadster. For whatever reason the big fellow enjoys the smaller three-wheel rides. He was seen driving in the LA area with his new toy.

According to The Blast, Shaq might have been influenced by Jamie Foxx as he was also seen cruising in a similar model.

The Blast discussed the details of the ride and it’s a lot cheaper than one might have thought; “The Venice sports a 1.4 4 Cyl Turbo, 6 Speed Auto Trans, 18” Wheels, 400 Watt BT Sound and PLENTY of legroom. They sell for just under $30,000”.

15 Too Expensive: Customized Sprinter Mercedes Van

via facebook.com

Take one look at the interior of Shaq’s Sprinter Van and you’ll instantly understand that it’s out of our price range – well unless you make some really decent coin. Base models of the Sprinter Van start at $90,000 and that’s the very basic one. One can just imagine how much Shaq paid for this ride in particular. The inside if filled with customizations from the seats to hardwood floors to customized speakers and TV screen. The darn thing looks like an apartment on wheels. It’s definitely considered one of the expensive van rides however this former Shaq van you'll see one the next entry might be a more affordable option and one that could have been yours. Scroll down to the next entry to find out what we’re talking about!

14 Can Afford: Customized 2001 Chevrolet G1500

via complex.com

Okay so it might not look the same and it’s a little older... However this Shaq ride was up for sale at the modest price tag of $45,000. The outside looks quite tacky, however with all the modifications on the inside it is quite the steal.

The inside features Louis Vuitton fabric along with a HD type of projector according to Complex.

The 20 inch rims are also customized and hey if you like Superman the ride is fully decked out with the logo both on the outside and on the inside. If the Sprinter Van is out of your budget someone can always settle for the 2001 Chevrolet at half the price...

13 Too Expensive: Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe

via instagram.com

Floyd Mayweather is smiling somewhere... Now in truth Shaq doesn’t have too many expensive rides that are just cars. In truth his expensive purchases as of late consist of customized buses, boats and sprinter vans. However he pulled out the cash for this stunning Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe. The model is a rare one as production ended on this version of the ride back in 2016. The ride is perfect for Shaq to cruise in. However it doesn’t have the perfect price point that’s for sure. A base model costs over half a million, $550,625 to be exact. If someone has a net worth of $400 million similar to O’Neal then by all means it might be affordable. If not it is far too pricey for us common folk.

12 Can Afford: Modified Cadillac Escalade

via pinterest.com

Oh Shaq. Seriously this guy is one of the few humans that can make an Escalade look small. Just take a look at past photos of Shaq in the vehicle, one can’t help but to chuckle at his mammoth size if the SUV. Shaq has put a couple of his past cars for sale in the past. One of them was a Porsche Panamera. The car went up for sale to the highest bidder on eBay. That price tag was little too expensive at over $50,000. However he also put up his black Cadillac Escalade at half the price. The vehicle sold for an affordable price tag of $25,000. Seeing as though the car is pretty darn expensive to fill up its lost a bit of value throughout the years.

11 Too Expensive: Cadillac Escalade With Vertical Doors

via blogspot.com

We transition to the expensive Escalade. This ride is fully decked out and modified from head to toe. The SUV has an entire kit put in along with vertical Lamborghini like doors. The front grill also includes the classic Shaq Superman logo.

While the outside is quite costly, the inside might be just as expensive.

The seats are all customized with Superman logos. Shaq loves to ride with a top tier sound system and that car doesn’t lack in this department either with four massive speakers in the back of the SUV. With all the modifications it isn’t as affordable compared to the previous Escalade and likely more than double the price.

10 Can Afford: Mercedes-Benz Smart Car

via autotrader.ca

It isn’t everyday that we get to see a guy buy a car that weighs the same as himself... Okay but seriously how hilarious is the photos of Shaq riding in the Mercedes-Benz Smart Car. Thankfully the vehicle has a retractable roof thus allowing his massive torso and head to fit properly. According to Ecorazzi it might have been a cost cutting measure for Shaq. The NBA legend is said to spend $23,000 per month on fuel alone! Heck that cost more than the entire vehicle altogether. One can find a brand new version of this ride for a modest $28,000. Older version can be found for under $20,000.

9 Too Expensive: Dodge Challenger Hellcat

via pinterest.com

Back in 2015 O’Neal added this stunning muscle car to his collection. According to The New Wheel his vehicle features; “A powerful 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine, which pumps out a jaw-dropping 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque”. The car features lots of customizations including extra leg room for the big fellow on the inside. The lights have also been modified as well. The base model alone might be too expensive however with all the modifications in place the car value nears the six figure territory. That might be a little too steep for most.

8 Can Afford: Ford Bronco II

via hemmings.com

Before he became a household name Shaq was riding in a Ford Bronco II. According to the big man he bought the car because of a darn Bronco song... He envisioned riding the streets with the booming Bronco anthem in the background. Shaq got that wish in his earlier days.

Let’s just say he’s made a couple of upgrades since then.

Shaq might be happy to know that the Bronco is making a return. It is said that the 80s ride plans to return with a revamped version. Who knows maybe Shaq might endorse the car? For now however you’ll have to settle for the older models. The cars sell for dirt cheap these days costing a couple of thousand depending on the condition.

7 Too Expensive: Extended Ferrari F355 Spider

via detroitnews.com

It isn’t the most expensive Ferrari and according to Jalopnik it isn’t the best one either and far from it. However that’s a conversation for another day. The base model of the F355 without the modifications goes for $137,000. One would assume that value went up once Shaq decided to customize the ride and extend it to meet his mammoth needs. With a decent price point Ferrari was able to mass produce the car with more than 11,000 units sold. Ferrari lovers are well aware that’s a hefty number compared to what it makes for the more expensive rides. Nonetheless the six figure cost isn’t an affordable one.

6 Can Afford: West Coast Choppers El Diablo Bike

via pinsdaddy.com

Nicknamed the "El Diablo" this customized ride was built to meet Shaq’s needs. Looking at the bike one would assume it has a value over $100,000 given the size and modifications to the bike. However it isn’t even worth half of that. Opening bids for the bike on eBay started at $40,000 and the highest bid was $44,100.

Given the look of the bike, that’s an affordable price point.

Among the cool features the bike has to offer includes a Lakers themed paint job, Shaq’s Superman logo and a beast on the inside with a Baker 6-speed transmission engine. This according to Bike-Urious.

5 Too Expensive: Stretched Lamborghini Gallardo

via klautosports.com

The big guy loves to stretch out luxury sport cars. He’s also done so with motorcycles, Slingshots, the Vaydor, Ferrari and you can add a Lamborghini Gallardo to that list as well. The vehicle has a six figure value to begin with. One can imagine how much more it cost Shaq to get the extra wiggle room in the interior of the vehicle. Yea, that’s a little too pricey for most of us. Just hearing Lamborghini most readers likely checked out in the affordable department... According to Motor Authority, the ride got lots of upgrades including; “Extended versions of the doors, roof and side windows, adding a total of 12 in to the car’s overall length.”

4 Can Afford: Buick Lacrosse

via youtube.com

We would expect Shaq to take part in a Ford commercial given his prior history with the car company. However his partnership with Buick came out of left field. The major selling point with Shaq as the face of the brand was to sell comfortable luxury at an affordable price point. To the car company’s credit Shaq looked pretty cozy in the ride with plenty of room.

It’s one of the cheaper rides that Shaq owns and a more affordable car.

A brand new version of the Buick Lacrosse can start a price point of $28,000 for the base model. That’s a modest price tag for a brand new vehicle.

3 Too Expensive: Customized Tour Bus

via instagram.com

Who needs a home when you have a fully decked out tour bus? Ironically Shaq put his beautiful Florida mansion up for sale shortly after purchasing this beast of a ride. Maybe he decided to live on these wheels permanently? If he chooses to he definitely can with this beast. The truck is completely modified with a massive extension on the back. The truck pays homage to Shaq’s NBA career while showcasing some his classic logos including the Superman sign and D&G logo. Without discussing the inside the modifications made on the outside alone easily make this ride an unaffordable one.

2 Can Afford: Terminator-Themed Ford F-650

via carakoom.com

If you have $57,500 saved up today is your lucky day! This Terminator themed truck is still a tad bit expensive. However given all of the modifications done to the vehicle this type of price point is definitely an affordable one. Auto Evolution discussed the inside of the vehicle and it doesn’t fall short of expensive modifications; “Beneath the cab, the mammoth workhorse is equipped with large fuel tanks hidden by diamond-plated steps. A toolbox placed between the tubular rails and the sliding glass window complete the exterior package. Once you step inside, try to look away from the hard plastics and focus on the leather bucket seats and the vinyl bench. Satellite navigation, satellite TV, satellite radio, and Internet radio are on the menu as well, as is cruise control and a rearview camera.”  Looking passed the awful Terminator paint that’s a pretty sweet bargain.

1 Too Expensive: The New Toy

via instagram.com

“What should I name her ? #mynewtoy”.  This is Shaq’s recent post showing off his new boat. Let’s put aside the fact that he got absolutely roasted in the comments section with some hilarious posts. However take nothing away from this ride, it looks pretty darn sweet. Again who needs a home when you have a decked out bus and now a ride that can turn into a home on the water? Most of us would love to afford such a ride. What better way to cruise the Miami waters than in that luxury stud of a boat. However the reality is that the true price point isn’t an affordable one and way too expensive.
