More than a year and eight months have passed since Rimac Automobili unveiled its groundbreaking C_Two electric hypercar concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Now, juicy details have come to light regarding the final unveiling, production, and sales of this dazzling hypercar from Croatia.

In an interview with AutoCar, Rimac founder and chief executive Mate Rimac revealed that the final production version of the C_Two electric hypercar concept – yes, it wasn’t final yet when it was unveiled March last year – will be unwrapped at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

However, don’t expect the electric hypercar to carry the same name as the concept when it is finally unveiled. After all, C_Two just means “Concept Two,” which follows the similarly innovative Rimac Concept One Coupe study.

Once the final version of the C_Two is unveiled production will commence before 2020 is out. Prior to that, Rimac said around 25 pre-production prototype electric hypercars would be built. Once built, each hypercar will weigh around 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg), around 1,543 lbs. (700 kg) of which represents the weight of its 120-kWh massive battery.

When the carmaker unveiled the production version of the C_Two in 2018, it promised that it would be available for delivery in 2020. For customers in the United Kingdom, deliveries of the first units will commence in 2021. Each example is priced at around $2.1 million. 150 examples will be built in all.

As for sales of the new electric hypercar, Rimac has already inked several distribution agreements with dealership groups -- including H.R. Owen -- around the world, including the UK, United States, Germany, Japan and Canada. Rimac is planning to open a research and development center in the UK.

Customers expect the production version to deliver as promised. It features four electric motors sending power to the wheels via a pair of single-speed transmissions on the front and two two-speed gearboxes at the rear.

Total output of the electric motors is pegged at 1,914 hp (1,408 kW) while overall torque is estimated at 2,300 Nm. Such power is enough to send the C_Two accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 1.85 seconds and go as fast as 258 mph (412 km/h). The 120-kWh, 6,960-cell battery pack provides enough juice for an all-electric range of 340 miles (550 km) as per WLTP.

Interestingly, Rimac says the C_Two will offer Level 4 Autonomy, as made possible by eight on-board cameras, six RADAR emitters, two LIDAR systems, 12 ultrasonic sensors, an IMU sensor, and a precise global positioning system.

The 2020 Geneva Motor Show is still four months away. So for now, the waiting game for the final version of the Rimac C_Two continues.
