The Chevrolet SS is a sedan that Chevrolet produced from 2014 to 2017, based upon the Holden Commodore. It was an attractive looking car that offered a little more performance over a regular sedan, but it was never a track focussed machine.

If you ever wondered what one of them would look like, the digital car rendering world has given us that. Renderer Abimelec Arellano has created this utterly incredible set of renders taking the Chevy SS and turned it into a special, track focussed Chevrolet SS 1LE.

A Sedan Version Of The Camaro

Arellano describes this as the sedan version of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, had the SS itself stayed in production for a longer period of time. We can see the influence of the ZL1 Camaro from the front, with the style of the grilles. The section with the Chevrolet badge and then below that have the same aggressive mesh pattern as the Camaro grille. Unlike on the standard SS, there is now a front splitter akin to the ZL1 to add more performance for this track focussed edition. The satin black hood is another standout feature of this car and a signature feature of Chevy 1LE models.

More Changes At The Rear Of The SS

If we look at the back of the SS, we see more changes that indicate its true potential. The most notable addition is that of a Camaro ZL1 rear wing, angled aggressively but thankfully not so large that it makes the car look silly. The rear also shows off the car's new exhaust layout, with twin exhausts either side to give the new SS ZL1 a quad exhaust setup. Unusually, there is no wild diffuser for extra performance, but that does make for a much cleaner looking underside of the car.

A Few Other Notable Changes

Just like the Camaro ZL1 1LE, this SS ZL1 has blacked out Chevrolet badges both on the front of the car and on the trunk lid at the back. The car has got a bit chunkier thanks to larger front and rear wheel fenders and the wheels themselves. All the other bodywork changes such as the splitter and rear wing combine to give the car a full aero kit. Lastly, the wheels are also clearly wider themselves, with perhaps stickier tires than you would have on the road going version.
