Roush performance has updated their custom Ford F-150 builds for the 2019 model year.
It’s 2019, in case you haven’t heard, and that means that all the custom aftermarket manufacturers are updating their builds to suit the new fleet of 2019 vehicles. Roush Performance is no exception.
Their two best-selling Ford F-150 upgrades, the SC and the Nitemare, are likewise getting their revised 2019 models to take advantage of Ford’s brand new offerings. But even as some things change, many more things stay the same.
Starting with the engine. Both trucks get the same 5.0-L Coyote V8 engine sourced from ford and given a Roush TVS R2650 supercharger. That boosts power to 650 horses (up from a stock 395 hp) and torque to 610 lb-ft (up from 400 lb-ft).
Along with the overpowered engine comes a new performance active side exhaust system as an available extra. It comes with four settings: touring mode, wide-open mode, sport mode, and custom mode. Touring provides the quietest ride, while wide-open will wake the neighbors in another county. Sport mode is designed for optimal performance, while custom lets you modify the exhaust notes on the fly.
A console-mounted dial even lets you change things without getting into the complicated touchscreen menu.
Here’s where things differ. With the SC being the more off-road example of the Roush pickup, its ROUSH/FOX 2.0 Performance Series Suspension System gets a 2-inch lift, while the Nitemare gets a 2-inch lowering. The SC gets 20-inch wheels wrapped in General Grabber ATX tires, while the Nitemare has 22-inch wheels wrapped in Continental Crosscontact LX20 285/45R22 tires.
Other than that, the trucks remain the same as 2018. That means same graphics, bumper, grille, and hood.
One thing does change: the price. The 2019 Roush F-150 SC now costs $24,900, up from $22,999, while the Nitemare costs $19,150 up from $16,999. Neither price includes the cost of the new pickup, which you’ll have to source yourself.
