Ruf Automobile GmbH is a German customization and tuning house famous for hopping up and modding the Porsche 911. They've been in the business since 1939, but it wasn't until 1987 when they cranked out the RUF CTR "Yellowbird" and achieved an ungodly 213 mph top speed that they were put on the map. They deal in very low production numbers as they are a small enterprise, but they have expanded in recent years to produce bespoke creations. They are known for their attention to detail and exceptional quality receiving Porsche's seal of approval on all their creations.

This latest design exercise, however, is something of a departure for the Pfaffenhausen, Germany based design house. The RUF Porsche Rodeo Concept is part Rodeo Drive and part Rodeo Cowboy. But it isn't all about looks as it's been prepped and massaged to handle the off-road with aplomb. Let's give her a look.

The Rodeo Meets Rodeo Drive

The RUF Rodeo Concept very much looks the part of a posh Paris to Dakar rally car and it is. The bones of the car are quite solid as RUF believes it all starts underneath the car where it counts. With a carbon fiber monocoque borrowed from the CTR Anniversary and SCR, and a couple of different engine options, the Rodeo has a little bit of design and performance leeway to suit every driver's tastes. As reported in Autoblog,  “[t]he love for sporty cars and to the culture of the Wild West [is] reflected in the Rodeo.”

Perhaps The Micro-Glamper Of Your Dreams?!

The off-road chops of the Rodeo include a generous lift kit with ample suspension travel, a four-wheel-drive system, and a beefy tire and rim package. With its chunky exterior and brush guards, off-road lights, and Rodeo design cues such as a rear mounted shovel and saddle leather it certainly looks and plays the part. And on the inside, the theme continues greeting any would-be cowboy or cowgirl with a pleasant ride. Buckle up, Alois!
