Satin Black Package Coming To Give Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat A Dark Roof

Satin Black Package Coming To Give Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat A Dark Roof

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is about to get a darker roof.

Last year, the Charger got a brand new set of stripes. Literally. Dodge announced new racing stripes as an appearance add-on that would help Charger owners stand out in a crowd of muscle cars that also have racing stripes. Because that’s how a car can be unique.

This year, Dodge is kicking it up a notch by giving the big SRT Hellcat another appearance package that makes it look like it’s ready to attend a funeral. We’re talking all black, baby.

According to Mopar Insiders (via Motor1), the new package is called “Satin Black,” and as the name suggests, it adds a bunch of black-painted features to the Hellcat. The hood? Satin black. Roof? Black as the night. Decklid and rear spoiler? Blacker than the depths of the abyss, and yet with a certain softness that can only be described as “satiny”.

The cost of pimping out your fancy muscle car will be $3,495 once it becomes available and will use Appearance Package code MEH. It’s not available online yet, but according to the report, it will be by the time April rolls around. If you can’t wait, it’s already available from Dodge dealers.

And at $3,459, it’s a great deal. The already available black roof package costs $1,500, while a satin black hood costs $1,995. There’s no option for a black-painted spoiler and rear decklid, so those are coming as totally free additions.

Get some black-painted wheels for an extra $995 and you’ll have a Charger that’s absolutely menacing.

A similar package was available for the 2018 Dodge Demon back when it was still being sold. This gives the Hellcat a Demon-like appearance, but the engine still remains the same as always: a 6.2-L supercharged HEMI V8 with 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Although we’re told from multiple sources that black is the currently fastest color, having supplanted red way back in the ‘90s.
