After revealing its own version of the 2021 F-150, Roush Performance is currently finalizing all details and elements before taking its newest Ford creation for final production. Wishing for its usually sick vehicles to exceed performance expectations especially on the trails, Roush Performance simply had to ensure that all essentials are in their proper places.

This is the reason why its engineers took a 2021 Roush F-150 engineering prototype to an off-road facility to undergo several performance tests – as seen in the company's recently uploaded video on YouTube.

Ensuring Components Function As Designed

To ensure tested perfect fitment, high quality and superb performance, Roush had the 2021 F-150's body components -- including its wide-body fender flares, fender extractors, and front grille, as well as the suspension and exhaust systems -- all rigorously tested on similar off-road situations.

By pushing the limits of the different system of the 2021 Roush F-150 on several different terrains, Roush engineers were to validate the design functions as it should. As the video shows, an engineering version of the 2021 F-150 Roush F-150 was put through the mud, rough roads and even uphill climbs and downhill descends.

During the testing process, Roush also brought the outgoing 2020 Roush F-150 on-site, allowing them to comparatively test the older creation with the 2021 version. Roush engineers equipped both trucks were equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer in order to gauge their ride quality. This way, they could collect the needed data and give their non-subjective opinion on how each truck was able to handle the off-road terrain.

Once data is gathered and analyzed, the engineering team will verify fitment and then give their final sign-off on to the Roush components. If all elements perform as required, Roush will build pilot vehicles to ensure that they can be installed on the assembly sans any issues. If needed, changes might be made and further tests will be done.
