When a car sprints from nil to a quarter mile in 10 seconds, it's actually considered a really quick and fast car. However, motorcycles are much quicker thanks to the fact that their lower weight gives them a favorable power-to-weight ratio. Earlier this month, a certain Suzuki GSXR 1000 reached the quarter mile in 6.300 seconds for what it claimed as a new world record.

Quickest And Fastest Motorcycle Without A Wheelie Bar

What kind of record did the GSXR 1000 actually set? According to owner Chris Moore of Moore Mafia, the GSXR 1000 is now the quickest and fastest motorcycle in the quarter mile without a wheelie bar. Built to be as quick as possible on the strip, this GSXR 1000—dubbed the "Black Mamba"—is a beautiful work of guts and engineering.

Black Mamba was blazing hot during the Hail Mary Derby event earlier this month. It was consistently posting quarter-mile times of sub-six seconds. In the 9th session, Black Mamba logged a quarter mile time of 6.359 seconds at 233.36 mph. This was a new quarter mile top speed for a motorcycle without a wheelie bar, as claimed by Moore Mafia.

A New World Record, As Claimed

In the 10th session, the boosted GSXR 1000 recorded a better time at 6.304 seconds but a slow pace of 226.96 seconds. Seemingly unstoppable, Black Mamba cruised the 13th session with a quarter mile time of 6.300 seconds at a top speed of 233.64 mph! Crazy times and Insane speeds for a rocket on two wheels!

What's the secret behind the Black Mamba? First, it's made as light possible, with a carbon fiber body all over thanks to Montgomery Motorsports. Even the subframe, frame rails, chain rail and even the tire hugger are made from this lightweight yet strong material.

Race Engine Plus Turbo Equals 700 WHP

According to Chris Moore, the Black Mamba is powered by a race engine sourced from SRW Precision. He noted that this engine is a fast and reliable mill, having logged zero engine failure. Attached to the engine is an Owens Development turbocharger with DME turbo header as well as class-legal GT33R exhaust system. Along with ECU tuning with Moore Mafia harness, Black Mamba is putting down over 700 wheel horsepower!
