Admittedly, there are many vehicle owners who want to boost not just the looks but also the capability of their rides. This is why Kia Motors America decided to unveil two concept vehicles at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show to demonstrate how the new 2021 Kia Seltos SUV can be made even more amazing.

The unveiling of the two concepts -- Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept and Seltos X-Line Urban Concept – came just moments after the Kia Seltos was introduced on stage. Perhaps, Kia was so excited to show these two new vehicles that it couldn't wait even a day to introduce them.

As per Kia, the two concepts represent different approaches on how to hike the capability of its new entry-level SUV. They also represent the active lifestyles of the owners of the Seltos. The Kia Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept caters to urban customers who like to go off-road, while the Seltos X-Line Urban Concept is designed for those who consider the city streets their jungle.

Kia Design Center America conceived and designed both studies while Zero to 60 Designs took charge of building them. Both were displayed at Kia's booth at the LA Auto Show, flanking the new 2021 Kia Seltos.

Let’s talk about the concepts starting with the Kia Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept. To boost its capability to tackle the trail, this Kia concept comes installed with electronic AWD and a custom 2-inch lift kit that effectively raises its ground clearance to 9.2 inches. For better traction on the trail, the 17 x 8-inch custom painted alloy wheels of the Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept are hugged by Knobby off-road rubber.

Concealed behind the front valance, a winch can be used when the going gets tough. The Kia Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept features eight ultra-bright Hella auxiliary lights -- four on the front bumper and another four on the roof rack.

The Kia Seltos X-Line Urban Concept, on the other hand, takes inspiration from the skyscrapers of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It is capable of taking on the most challenging nemesis on urban streets – potholes. This is made possible by a custom 2-inch lift, electronically controlled AWD (with torque vectoring) and 17 x 8-inch alloy rims.

Featuring a gloss-black roof panel, the Seltos X-Line Urban Concept also feature four high-powered Hella auxiliary lights and a custom roof rack.

While Kia was quick to note that it has no plans to build these SUV concepts, the carmaker said the Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept and the Seltos X-Line Urban Concept may still find their way onto roads in the future. We're looking forward to that!
