Whenever we come across a barn find or two, it's quite often we find something pretty extraordinary sitting around. The Auto Archaeology YouTube channel is one of the best out there for checking out these classic machines. One of them is this classic Chevrolet that they came across in a yard in South East Tennessee in the summer of 2022, among plenty of other pretty epic barn finds. This is a special Hot Rod as it was the personal car of the yards' owner.

The video on the YouTube channel shows a rather rusty looking Chevrolet buried among some bikes, spare parts and a lot of other pieces. All just sitting around in the Tennessee sun. It's not in the best shape, but there is some hope for it. The video on YouTube states that the owner is actually interested in selling pretty much everything in the yard. It sounds like this Hot Rod is one vehicle that must go soon. So if you fancy a bit of a restoration project, as well as a new car, then this is very much something for you.

This Chevrolet Returns Us To The Glory Days Of Hot Rods

The car has been to West Palm a few times in its life says the owner, who himself used to be a Honda mechanic. So it's done a lot of miles over the years. From what we can hear from the owner, it is a 283 ci engine with a turbo under the hood. Meaning it has quite a lot of grunt for what is actually quite a small car. He says he couldn’t work out what the top end speed of the hot rod is in all the years he has had it. It's a vehicle that really reminds us of the glory days of hot rods, with the classic shape and big power under the hood.

It's in a bit of a state, and it is in fact an early 283 under the hood. The owner says it was actually painted about 12 or 14 times with a brush, hence the state that it is currently in. So a good paint job is certainly needed to get this back up to scratch. But all that paint has kept the body of the car in as good condition as possible. Auto Archaeology wishes he had spent more time finding out about the history of the Hot Rod that was in the yard.

This Classic Ford Ranchero Was Also Hot Rodded At Some Point

Something else that also caught the eye of Auto Archaeology was a Ford Ranchero. It’s a car that the YouTuber wishes he had done a video on, as that in itself is quite an interesting car. It looked in reasonable condition, and it was in itself a barn find before the owner got his hands on it. At some point in its life, it was hot rodded as well and the whitewall tires certainly help it stand out. But we sadly don’t get much else on this truck.

The green finish helped to make the Ranchero look truly stunning, and pretty much all the chrome is still in place on it. Remember, this car is also for sale. Something else that really catches the eye though is the wild collection of G-Karts scattered around the place. These are all sitting among a plethora of old bikes with a lot of them naturally being Hondas. One G-Kart that really catches our eye, and Auto Archaeology is that of the Wrangler Go-Kart. Yes, you read that right, a Wrangler Go-Kart is sat among the rest of the treasures.

The Wrangler Go-Kart Is Not Your Average Form Of Jeep

This Wrangler Go-Kart isn’t based upon the Jeep Wrangler so it is far from your average Wrangler. This go-kart very much seems to be in very good condition, with the van body looking incredibly cool. It's so cool that Auto Archaeology is very determined to get his hands on it and take it home to join a similar go-kart he has. We think it looks pretty cool too and it is probably quite rare as well. The owner though was not sure on the price at the time of the recording.

The Chevrolet Hot Rod Might Be The Perfect Addition To Anyone’s Collection

It is a personal car, so the owner may be touchy on selling it. But that Chevrolet Hot Rod is certain to make a great addition to anyone’s fleet of cars. It looks like it has got some restoration potential too which is great to see. It is clearly a bit rusty and a bit worn out, but nothing is hanging off and the layers of paint have preserved it quite well. Hot rods like this are quite hard to come by in 2023, so it would be great to see what someone could do with one.
