Former NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal just bought a new Ram 1500 Limited with a set of pricey custom wheels.
Shaq is a big guy. At 7’1” and 325 lbs, Mr. O’Neal needs a ride that’s as big as he is, which usually means trucks.
Last year, Shaq bought a Ford F-650 pickup, which is one of the biggest trucks on the market. This year he’s opted for a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited Crew Cab, quite possibly the most technologically advanced and luxurious pickup truck offered in America.
We don’t have the full specifics of every option Shaq got for his new ride, but we do know quite a bit just by looking at it. The 5.7-L HEMI badge tells us he opted for the V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. FCA fitted their top-selling pickup with their brand new eTorque mild hybrid system that recaptures lost energy to improve fuel efficiency.
Combined with an efficient 8-speed automatic transmission and cylinder deactivation, the Ram 1500 Limited is the most fuel-efficient V8-powered truck on the road.
Along with great mileage comes great comfort. The Limited rides on Ram’s Active-Level four-corner air suspension--the only truck on the market to offer this sort of suspension, which provides an ultra-smooth ride. The 2019 Ram 1500 also gets a class-leading 12-inch infotainment screen along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Ram 1500 Limited starts at $54,000, but with the engine upgrade and the sunroof, Shaq’s pickup easily hits $60,000 and possibly more if he went for the 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and driver safety suite.
However, those wheels are the real wallet killers. They’re 26-inch Forgiato-made models called "Concavos,” and wrapped in rubber band tires. According to AutoEvolution, those add $10,000 to the price of Shaq’s truck, and we’re wondering if the price is worth it considering how little they do to help with ride quality.
