Performance company Shelby American is using the resigned 2021 Ford F-150 as the foundation for the launch of a new supertruck of its own, the 2021 Shelby F-150, which promises up to 775 hp. This pickup is hard to miss, thanks to a lifted body and eight separate “Shelby” badges on the exterior, including a huge one in the grille. No one will confuse this for a stock F-150. Shelby’s newest creation will compete with other supertrucks like the Hennessey Mammoth 1000 and the RAM 1500 TRX.

Power Begins With The Coyote V-8

As is befitting anything with a Shelby name, this modified F-150 is all about performance. Base power comes from a stock Ford Coyote 5.0L V-8 with 395 hp, but an optional supercharger almost doubles engine output. With an obvious nod to the TRX, the Shelby truck also includes a FOX off-road suspension with adjustable dampers to manage on-road travels and off-road adventures. Other equipment consists of a Shelby Borla performance exhaust, custom exhaust tips, rear traction bars, and a numbered Shelby engine plate.

Mods Go Beyond Shelby Badges

In addition to the overabundance of Shelby badges, other exterior mods include a dual-intake hood with vents, 22-inch Shelby alloys, 35-inch BFG all-terrain tires, side steps, Shelby’s LeMans-style dual body striping, a tonneau cover with bed liner, and a modified front bumper.

Shelby also reworks the stock F-150 interior with two-tone leather seating and (no surprise) Shelby-emblazed headrest covers. Other cabin equipment includes carbon-fiber accents, billet racing pedals, and deep-tinted windows. Additional Shelby reminders include a center console lid badge and numbered dash plaque.

A Six-Figure Supertruck

Pricing for the base Shelby F-150 begins at $107,080, but you’ll have to cough up $114,980 if you want the supercharger and all that horsepower. It wasn’t too long ago that the idea of a six-figure truck was unthinkable, but order a top-tier F-150 from the factory with all the boxes ticked, and you’ll hit $85,000. Further, a loaded RAM TRX will set you back more than $90,000, so Shelby’s pricing isn’t out of line with the market. Similarly, Hennessey’s Mammoth 1000 supertruck begins at around $135,000.

But, don’t wait if you’ve got a hankering for the Shelby F-150; the company will only make 600 units this year. The Las Vegas-based company even plans to exports some of this production to Europe.
