Overlanding can be enjoyed with well-equipped SUVs, pickup trucks or even vans. Nonetheless amphibious all-terrain vehicles such as the properly equipped Sherp can also be a perfect overlanding companion. Of course, a typical Sherp won't do the trick, so a new version of the ATV is coming – Sherp The Ark.

Evolution Of The Sherp

When it was introduced in 2012, the Sherp was simply the most capable all-terrain vehicle available in the market. Derived from a distinct and patented development technology, the Sherp simply has no match in terms of maneuverability, off-road prowess and reliability. But of course, it has some limitations in terms of the number of passengers and the amount of cargo it can carry.

Thus, the Sherp needed to evolve. Its latest evolution comes in the form of Sherp The Ark. Just as the Biblical ark carried so many animals inside during the great flood, Sherp The Ark offers great capacity by attaching a 15.75-foot trailer that can serve many different functions. It does this while still being able to overcome sand, gravel, ditches, obstacles and snow. It can even float on water.

Different Versions For Varied Needs

Sherp The Ark can serve as a universal load platform for transporting massive cargo in hard-to-reach areas. It can also serve as a personal transportation unit that can accommodate up to 22 persons, including the driver. Furthermore, Sherp The Ark can serve as a medical module or a tank unit.

Of course, Sherp The Ark can also become a dwelling module, which would be great for overlanding trips. Whether for off-road expeditions or just outdoor explorations, Sherp The Ark can be properly equipped with beds, sanitary equipment as well a kitchen.

A 10X10 All-Terrain Vehicle

Powered by a Doosan 2.4-liter four-cylinder diesel engine delivering 74 hp of max output and 206 lb.-ft. of peak torque, the 31.6-foot-long Sherp The Ark consists of two linked units working as one – a main unit with 4x4 system and a trailer riding on 6 driven wheels. With this 10x10 configuration and a 3-axis articulated steering system, Sherp The Ark is definitely a true all-terrain vehicle.

The price for Sherp The Ark has yet to be revealed. Since the Sherp Pro version is priced at around $118,000, Sherp The Ark should cost more.
