Custom work helps turn boring bikes into rad-looking machines that are desirable to ride and own. Each custom job is unique, giving custom motorcycles a personality they don't possess when leaving the manufacturing lines.

Some bikes are more popular with customizers than others because of the ease to work on and the possibilities. Some only require a few mods to transform them entirely, and others are like a blank canvas that you can tear down and create a new piece of art after your heart and from the ground up.

The Ducati Monster is quite popular with customizers the world over. The Ducati Monster starts out naked, gets stripped further, and is stylized into café racers, streetfighters, and scramblers by the best master builders. They have, at their disposal, a wide range of bike options from the smaller 400 cc to the monstrous 1200cc bikes. These custom shops and their Ducati Monster builds will interest you.

Master metal shaper Simone Lecca left his lucrative job and set up Metalbike Garage to create unique and elaborate custom motorcycle builds to enter exhibitions across Europe. Safe to say, most of his creations are pure metal temptations. His 'Infinita' Ducati Monster S4R custom bike is a perfect combination of Italian design and Lecca's brushed aluminum, with almost every part receiving a custom touch.

A titanium welded twin exhaust completed the satin finish in the tail and all other metal elements in the bike.

This Ducati Monster M900 super hooligan code-named 'Project Smart Tracker' was inspired by Paul Smart's 1972 desmodromic GP racer.

The builders toughened up the bike by bracing the frame at the center and at the neck, so it could handle abuses on flat track and TT racing. The tank is now seven inches narrower, and the front hub runs a single front brake rotor and tires wrapped with Dunlop DT3 tires. A heavy silver metal flake paint helps complete the look of this 100% street legal tracker.

Erick Buchholz of Spurius Rotis built this Ducati Monster custom bike, dubbed the 'Mustang Sally.' The self-professed history nerd drew inspiration for this build from the P-51D fighter planes of the 325th Fighter Group. The build is arguably the most authentic WWII warbird-inspired project, having ditched the common adhesive airbrushing practice for a custom-fabricated sheet metal tank and rear, complete with legit AN430 rivets.

This Ducati Monster was built on a 2003 S4R with minimal but carefully-planned modifications that completely turned the old bike into a more desirable machine. Paolo Tesio extensively modeled all modifications using CAD before installation. The rear sub-frame was the only specially designed component, since it had to accommodate a new cast tail while fitting the existing mounts.

A Ducati MH900 headlight helped enhance the nose-down stance of the bike. The exhaust was conveniently tucked under the engine to manifest the squared-ff looks. To complete the styling is a simple but effective monochrome color scheme and old-school Ducati badging.
