Anyone who drag races in any serious regard knows that the first place to spend their money, before dumping dough into power upgrades like turbos or engine swaps, is in a good set of tires. And yet, most of the exciting videos featuring hardcore drag racing online don't even mention tire brands, sizes, or even weather conditions where tires meet the tarmac. But that doesn't mean it's not fun to watch a bunch of the world's best cars go head to head, as proven by yet another video from the CarWow YouTube channel featuring a competition between a Lamborghini Urus, Aventador SV, and Huracan Performante.
Ready And Roaring
Altogether, these cars could easily cross into the seven-figure price range, as they are the models that currently make up Lamborghini's non-limited-edition lineup. Of course, the Urus has entered the high-end luxury SUV market as a beastly cousin to the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and Q8, Volkswagen Touareg, and the Bentley Bentayga. With a twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood, rather than Lamborghini's traditional V12, the Urus has proven itself capable of under three seconds despite a curb weight of 4,850 pounds.
Aero FTW
Of course, 0-60 mph times only make up a small portion of a quarter-mile race, which means the Urus here will also be at a disadvantage due to its higher aerodynamic profile once the contest gets into higher speeds. The Aventador, meanwhile, does feature a naturally aspirated V12, while benefiting from a curb weight of only 3,472 pounds and a much sleeker exterior.
Lastly, the Huracan Performante tips the scales all the way down at 3,047 pounds and features a 631-horsepower V10 mounted amidships. But in the end, traction rules the roost, so watch the video to see which of these cars manages to launch off the line the best.
