The German carmaker Porsche has been producing some of the most elegant and fastest sports cars out there. Over time, the Porsche 911 has become a beacon of German engineering. Interestingly, even if luxury usually comes at a price, some of the cheapest Porsche 911 models are the best.
Car fans have had the chance to witness the evolution of Porsche, and how enthusiasts have built some gorgeous restored and outlawed Porsche 911s. Today, outlaw 911s are all the rage, and even purists can admit that some of them are simply beautiful.
10 1968 911K
This 911 could be among the best restomodded European cars. Designed to be one of the best race cars on the track, the 911 ended up becoming so popular that Porsche fans worldwide decided to fix up classic 911s and turn them in some of the coolest restomods ever.
Emory did a great job at turning this oldie into a modern yet retro race car. The original engine was boosted to produce 190hp, and the frame of the car was reinforced in order to handle more sporty action. The roll cage is a clear indicator that the car really means business.
9 1972 911 RS
Porsche quickly realized that its 911 cars were going to be game-changers. Following the release of some of the earlier versions, the German carmaker decided to do whatever possible to counter Italian supercars and American muscle cars. The 911s were the best of both worlds.
The 911 RS is among the greatest Porsches ever made. This fairly light 911 is originally equipped with a 2.7L Boxer 6-engine producing 207hp.
8 1975 911 R-Gruppe
The name Carrera brings about the idea of speed and coolness. In fact, some of the earlier Carrera editions are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars today.
The best part about a restomod is the engine swap. This Carrera traded its 2.7L engine for a fatter 3.6L flat-six engine producing around 315hp. The rest of the car received a sober treatment that gives it a very classic and clean look. The tastefully chosen caramel paint is perfect for this beauty.
7 1975 911 SC
Some car fans out there believe that certain classic cars should never be modified. In fact, they believe that restoring them should be done by the book. What a boring existence. Though respect towards purists is mandatory, it is absolutely acceptable to salivate on a beautifully modified oldie.
This awesome 911 should be among the modified Porsches car enthusiasts absolutely need to check out. With its original 2.7L flat-six, this classic Porsche is a younger collector's dream. This Black Widow is the sort of 911 that should be sanctified. It is good to see that its owner is giving it the treatment it deserves.
6 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR
Several car fans will agree that older cars are often much cooler than newer versions. There is something about older cars that newer ones just do not have. Older Porsches have that special thing that most cars do not have. That thing is a solid reputation that had generations dreaming about driving a racy 911.
Whoever came up with this absolute gem is a skilled individual. Equipped with a 3.8L producing 320hp, this flared-out 911 Carrera RSR is the definition of cool. Unfortunately, coolness has a price. This beauty will set you back around $325,000. That is a bit pricey for the average Joe, but hedge fund kids should definitely look into this company's work.
5 1984 Porsche 911 Ghost Outlaw
The United Kingdom never fails to surprise the world with some of its factory-made or modified vehicles. Being so close to mainland Europe, it is quite understandable that British car fans have developed a taste for German cars, especially classic 911s.
This Ghost Outlaw deserves its name. As the car came back from the dead and was completely restored, it's kind of fitting that it has a somewhat macabre moniker. Though the car is not as aggressive as some of the Singers or Emorys out there, it remains a pure jewel that most gearhead would love to drive.
4 MW's LA Special
Southern California has its fair share of luxury cars. It is quite common to see one-of-a-kind supercars cruising the streets. As luxury cars are a dime a dozen, most car fans simply overlook them after a while. However, madmen like Magnus Walker know exactly what would grab a true gearhead's attention.
This metallic blue 911 is absolutely gorgeous. Modified in the simplest way possible, this 3.0L 911 is the combination of quality work and that California love people have been talking about for so long. The car definitely fits well in the Los Angeles area, and will for sure turn some heads when cruising Mulholland Drive.
3 MW's 911
That conservatively modded Porsche is one of the cheap Porsches every true enthusiasts will appreciate. Despite being somewhat affordable, the 911 remains one of the most respected and sought after Porsche out there. It is quite understandable that Magnus Walker wanted to get his hands on it.
Most of Magnus Walker's Porsches seem to have received a very minimal amount of work. That is as far from the truth as you could possibly get. This 911 was completely transformed and is far from being your average 911.
2 Porsche 911 RSR
The outlaw trend is not limited to American and the United Kingdom. In fact, tuners from all over the world have widely adopted the outlaw look. They have, as a result, created some of the most insane outlaw Porsches with some touches that are particular to their region. However, this is one 911 that does hail from North America.
This 911 should be among the outlaw Porsches that cost more than they look. This New-Jersey built 911 looks like a devil. Its large back wheels covered by some wild flares give it a super aggressive look that most Porsche fans (even the purists) will appreciate.
1 Rikardo Mattozzi
There are times in life when aggressiveness can be overwhelming. Though a sports car is supposed to have a mean look, there are times when a more sober style can also be enjoyable. This 911 is the prime example of a tame Porsche that is really not that tame.
This extremely lowered 911 designed by Rikardo Mattozzi could be a great inspiration for tuners worldwide. Though Japanese tuners may look at how low it is, and decide to put negative cambers on it, the end result is very likely to be mouth-watering, to say the least. This 911 would be an absolute dream if it was equipped with the same engine as the GT2 RS, or even better, the electric engine of the Taycan.
