General Motors’ GMC Yukon is not the kind of car, SUV rather, that one would associate with speed, right? Well, this sleeper GMC Yukon might just prove everyone wrong despite no racing stripes or bling, just a very beater-like standard paint. YouTube channel Drag Racing and Car Stuff brings you the ultimate Yukon battle — with five cars. Not only does it take on a Ford Mustang and a Kia Stinger, but also a VW Golf and a Camaro ZL1 for some rather surprising results.

The GMC Yukon Is A Perfect Sleeper

If we were in the audience of this drag race, we may not have been too impressed with the GMC Yukon either because it looked just like a Yukon. Ordinary, with nothing special about its front or sides, or even the back. It looks near deadbeat. Of course, this is not the first time a sleeper ended up surprising the audience.

The first car it clashed swords with turned out to be a red Ford Mustang bearing white stripes. The ‘Stang managed to run the quarter-mile in 13.478 seconds, at a top speed of 101.45 mph, but the Yukon whizzed to a win in 12.146 seconds at a top speed of 117.34 mph. Shocking!

The next car it crossed was a white VW Golf, and the Yukon soundly thrashed it again. The Yukon managed an 11.903 second win at a top speed of 117.04 mph, while the Golf lagged at 13.536 seconds, with a top speed of 104.95 mph.

The next run of the Yukon went against a Kia Stinger. The Yukon surprised even the announcer when it took on the quarter-mile in 11.929 seconds at a top speed of 117.34 mph. The Stinger ran at a top speed of 109.48 mph, needing 12.886 seconds to complete the drag race.

Even a classic first-gen Mustang could not hold its own against the Yukon, as it now sprinted the quarter-mile in 11.827 seconds at 117.05 mph top speed. The classic ‘Stang ran the same in a slower 13.679 seconds with a top speed of 94.59 mph.

Finally, the Yukon raced a blue Camaro ZL1. Could this be the Yukon's defeat? The stunning Camaro ran the quarter-mile at a top speed of 122.89 mph, in 11.613 seconds. The Yukon did the same at a slightly slower top speed of 121.17 mph, but still managed to trounce the Camaro with an 11.492 second win.

The obvious question arises. What, in the name of all that is holy, is under the hood of that GMC Yukon? And where can we get it?
