Is the General Motors-backed, Michael Bay’s Transformers a car movie franchise? Well, it does destroy plenty of them. And while it's not truly a car movie, it sure has a ton of awesome cars in it, even if the cars are shown to be sentient beings. It’s like you took K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, and breathed life into it. With tons of personality, fighting skills, and a robotic heart. And real sleek looks as well.

The seventh movie of the franchise called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is no different when it comes to the cool cars in it. The vehicles in it are drool-worthy. So let’s salivate, jointly.

Bumblebee Is Still A Chevy Camaro, But Better

The director of the movie, Steven Caple Jr. created ripples with a sneak peek into the vehicles of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts with a caption that read “The squad is out…” It's serious, Omigod metal. Like always, crowd favorite Bumblebee is a Chevrolet Camaro.

But this time it’s a second-gen one with off-road works. Bumblebee now comes wearing kickass mud tires and there’s what seems to be an external roll cage around with spotlights on the roof. It also has a little ducktail spoiler because heck, it's Bumblebee. Rumor has it, the Camaros for this movie have GM’s 5.7-liter small-block V8s that are good for 290 horses, stock. But then again, there’s aftermarket so who knows the actual power.

Cannot Be A Transformers Without Optimus Prime

Bumblebee’s mentor and the leader of Autobots, Optimus Prime is still a truck, and still in red, white, and blue plumage. There are no details as to what the truck is and how much it bears for now. Fellow Autobot Arcee is a red and white Ducati 916. Meanwhile, Mirage is a silver Porsche 964 and looking good. Wheeljack is a classic VW bus.

Other than the Autobots, this movie will see new factions being brought in as the Maximals, Predacons, and the Terrorcons. Along with pictures from Steven Caple Jr, there’s a Facebook page called Transformers Cars run by a fan, who has shared more pictures from the shoot in Peru. And they are cool…

The Even Cooler Bad Guy Vehicles

JDM fans are in for a treat with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The human-created Decepticon robot, Nightbird is now a Terrorcon, and she will be represented by the R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R. While fans lament that it should have been an R32, the copper and purple colors over grey with a widebody kit and a big rear wing look stunning. It certainly looks like a genuine GT-R, immaterial of what’s truly inside.

Then there’s an orange tow truck, for now, an unnamed Terrorcon, and it’s a GMC Topkick. And the very scary black Mack truck is Scourge, the Decepticon second-in-command to Galvatron, aka Megatron reborn.

The cars are cool. The premise of the movie may be cooler, although only the most ardent fans can follow the complex plot. But with a release date of June 24, 2022, fans are excited to have Transformers back on the screen. With the amazing vehicles, of course.
