A quick look at the Sondors Electric Bikes slick and well-designed website, and you get a clear flavor of the modernized rides on offer that leave conventional bicycles in the past.

Sondors opened in February 2015. Their massively successful crowdfunding campaign saw the Sondors Original hit the market. Following on from this, the brand established two more several-million dollar crowdfunding campaigns.

With such success early on, Sondors played a significant role in pioneering the world of electric bicycles, with the company claiming that they are "responsible for revolutionizing the way the world views affordable electric transportation for the masses." Nowadays, about 200,000 customers own Sondors bikes worldwide.

So, what is behind the popularity of this brand? Specifically, what are their best offerings? Let's take a closer look.

These Are The Best Sondors Electric Bikes

Sondors XS

Cost: $2,199

FlexPay: $299

Arguably the best electric bike sold by Sondors is their all-weather XS, which also happens to be their most powerful all-terrain bicycle. With a 750W motor, it can hit speeds as high as 20 mph. It comes with a 48 volt 17.5 Ah lithium-ion battery enabling you to travel as much as forty to sixty miles with a fully charged battery.

The XS can travel about forty miles with throttle riding only, but as much as sixty miles if the rider is pedaling (this is still supported by the bike's electric pedal assist).

In total, there are five levels of electric pedal assist, and the bike also employs a signature series 7-speed derailleur. The Sondors XS also features premium hydraulic brakes and a color display. This ride is available in red or black.

Sondors X

Cost: $1,699

FlexPay: $299

Another all-weather and all-terrain Sondors bike is the X. It too has a 48 volt 17.5 Ah lithium-ion battery, albeit it has a 500-watt motor rather than a 750W unit. That said, it can still reach a maximum speed of 20 mph. It also has a range of forty to sixty miles. It comes with a black/white LCD display, a forged aluminum frame, and seven-speed gears with a grip shifter.

It is not quite as high-quality as the XS, but the Sondors X still provides plenty to meet most customers' needs and all for $500 less than the cost of buying the XS.

Sondors Fold XS

Cost: $2,199

FlexPay: $299

The Fold XS is, of course, very similar to the XS, but one key difference is (you guessed it) that this bike is foldable. This makes the Fold XS easier to store away, and it will also take up less space when housed inside. The Fold XS has the same battery, top speed, and range as the former two options.

Beyond that, the Sondors Fold XS comes with premium ergonomic gel seats, premium ergonomic handlebars, and a heavy-duty kickstand. Its color LCD display includes a USB port as well as five pedal assist levels, among other awesome and useful features. Further, the Fold XS is fitted with adjustable air shocks; a 12 magnet pedal assist sensor and hydraulic brakes with 180mm discs.

Final Thoughts

Sondors is a promising electric bike brand that has been around for more than half a decade now, and with the prospect of electrification in the automotive industry, we're feeling pretty optimistic about the world of electric bikes for the decade ahead. We expect to see a lot more of them out on our streets and mountains throughout the 2020s, including rides like the Sondors XS.
