Few people look at the new Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV and see a vehicle that's understated. From the enormous front grille reminiscent of classic Rolls-Royces gone by to the massive wheels and grumbling exhaust, this is an SUV built to show off just by its mere presence. But Rolls didn't skimp on performance, either, bestowing the enormous beast with a 6.75-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 that pumps out 563 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque from the factory. And yet, some maniacs at the German tuning company Novitec just weren't quite satisfied and decided to create a bigger, badder Rolls for the world to enjoy.

Less Is Not More, More Is More

The build was actually completed by Novitec Group's subsidiary, Spofec, and looks downright aggressive just from the exterior. The Cullinan's factory ride height has been dropped by 40mm (1.57 inches) over 24-inch wheels courtesy of Vossen, which are surrounded by massive fender flares that add a total of 10cm (4.72 inches) to the enormous SUV's already significant width. A new front fascia replaces the entire factory bumper cover, in front of an engine bay that's received its fair share of changes, as well.

Power To The People

Under the hood, Spofec tuned the Cullinan's turbo-twelve to produce up to 685 horsepower and 745 lb-ft of torque, increases of 83 and 81, respectively, over the Cullinan in Black Badge trim. Those figures are routed to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission and 295mm tires, which contribute to a 0-60 time of only 4.9 seconds—not bad for a rig that tips the scales at a hefty 5,864 pounds without any mods.

A custom stainless exhaust system helps notify other Cullinan owners - they all meet up regularly, right? - that sometimes it's okay to judge a book by its completely over-the-top cover. Pricing is, presumably, solidly in the "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" arena.
