YouTube channel, The Hamilton CollectionYouTube channel, The Hamilton Collection, focuses on the day-to-day life of owning supercars. Steve Hamilton owns tons of amazing machines such as a Ford GT, a Bugatti Chiron, a McLaren Senna, and a Porsche 918 Spyder. All totaled, the collection is worth around $30 million, and it’s cool to see the Hamiltons share their cars online.

Unfortunately, someone close to the Hamiltons got into an accident in one of their cars. Of course, it had to be their ultra-rare McLaren Senna, one of the most sought-after hypercars ever made. Read on to see Hamilton’s plans for the damaged Senna and how he makes the best of a bad situation.

Assessing The Damage Of The Senna

This Senna is not looking good. It’s got some serious right-door damage and the in-door windows are decorating the floor in shards. Also, the accident mangled the carbon fiber bodywork. Now, the only ways to get into the right side of the car are through the left door or with a crowbar on the right.

Even though his rare car is in pieces, Hamilton calmly lays out three options for what he can do with the Senna. The first is, his insurance company refuses to sell it back to him, and it goes to auction after he gets a check for the car. Next, the collection's full-time manager, Tommy, gives the second option. It's possible the car is not considered totaled, and the insurance company repairs it with official McLaren parts.

The third option is Tommy's preferred: send the car to Lanzante. There, the British Automotive shop could repair the car, do a GTR conversion, inverse the color scheme, and make it a convertible. The work would take almost two years but, it would make this Senna the first road-legal convertible GTR. It would also be outrageously expensive.

Making The Best Of The Situation

Next, Hamilton goes to the intersection where the accident happened. He says that the driver in the Senna pulled out into oncoming traffic and hit the Pontiac driver. He mentions that the car that collided with the Senna was a 2007 Pontiac G6, and he thinks the driver will not get enough insurance money for it.

Hamilton, in a kind gesture, decides to give a new Hyundai Santa Fe to the driver of the Pontiac. Kudos, to him for making the best of a bad situation. If only every car accident could end with plans for a one-of-one McLaren and a new car.
