Porsche has proven itself as the first true competitor to Tesla's electric-vehicle supremacy, with the Taycan Turbo S immediately setting a new standard for power and performance as soon as it hit the streets. After setting Motortrend's record for an EV quarter-mile in official testing, the Taycan has also controversially dismantled the Tesla Model S in enthusiast competition, as well. But one thing Elon Musk's cars have going for them is the ability to receive updates over the air, like the recent Cheetah Stance mode that helps the four-door sedan crouch down for improved traction off the line. And now, the YouTube channel CarWow has gone ahead and tested the Tesla Model S Performance with Cheetah Stance equipped against the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. Watch the video to see whether the new feature can help Elon regain his title.

Squat And Lunge

With the Cheetah Stance update, the Model S Performance should now be able to produce a claimed 825 horsepower and 958 lb-ft of torque from its dual electric motors, which power all four wheels through a single-speed transmission. But the Model S Performance also tips the scales at just shy of 4,941 pounds thanks to its big battery, which allows for a range rating of 348 miles. The Cheetah Stance upgrade lowers the front suspension and tunes the dampers all around to help keep power routed to the ground better.

Meanwhile, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S steps up to the line with a disadvantage in almost every department when compared to the Cheetah Stance-equipped Tesla. With Launch Control and Overboost activated, it maxes out at "only" the equivalent of 761 ponies and 774 lb-ft of twist, while weighing in at 5,121 pounds.

But the Taycan does employ two forward gears, which could translate to an advantage at higher speeds, while also riding about three inches lower. Watch the clip to see how these all-wheel-drive electric monsters manage to route all their power to the ground.
