Ares Design is a luxury coachbuilder, and they specialize in commissions of extraordinary cars as well as bespoke vehicles, such as their Wami Lalique Spyder. They've recently been on a roll after entering the Porsche 911 restomod scene and producing a new version of their highly modified Land Rover Defender. They are now taking even more of a plunge by entering the electric car game. They have taken a Tesla Model S and turned it into a fantastic looking convertible car.

Tesla Model S Turned Into Two-Door Convertible

via Ares Design

This car has been privately commissioned, and the client wanted the Model S turned into an eye-catching two-door convertible. Extensive work has been undertaken on the body, the chassis, the aero of the car, as well as the interior. It is so much more than a Tesla with just the roof cut off.

Engineers at Ares worked hard on it, cutting the roof away and then removing the rear doors and B-pillars. This was done to facilitate new, longer front doors to turn this four-door into a stylish two-door. A new rear bonnet was designed by Centro Stile, which allows the roof to be integrated while stowed.

The modifications were not confined to just the exterior of the car. Ares did a lot of work on the interior, with the company’s upholstery and leather specialists giving the interior a large upgrade. The leather has been replaced, and custom-made rear seats are now fitted with some fine and precisely stitched ice white leather. Plus, there's orange detailing that has all been done to replicate the client's wishes of a stylish interior finish.

A Dash Of Italy

Co-founder and CEO of Ares Dany Bahar said of the conversion: "At ARES, our Co-create philosophy allows clients to work side by side with our designers and engineers to create their very own bespoke vehicle, a service that is unique to ARES. This Tesla project is a superb example of this; it was a pure coachbuilding project which we very much enjoy doing and seeing the results of our uncompromising standards."

A dash of Italian style has been added to the car as well. Ares designed a carbon fiber aero kit to complement all the other new features on the Tesla, and that has helped to add more of their own unique styling to the commission.
