The Geneva Motor Show has been canceled due to fears of a global Coronavirus pandemic, but that hasn't stopped automakers from continuing with their plans to release new cars that were intended for debut at the event. Now, revived electric vehicle manufacturer Fisker has unveiled a new video for the Ocean crossover, as well as more information about the forthcoming EV's specs and pricing. Details include an 80.0-kWh battery with charging capabilities up to 150 kW, which should lead to an EPA-estimated range of around 300 miles once the car actually gets tested.

Bringing It Back

Fisker built the Karma electric sedan back in the late-2000s, until the bankruptcy of its battery supplier led to the car being shelved. In the ensuing years, founder Henrik Fisker has reshaped his company, now known as Fisker Inc, to develop a new all-electric crossover that will, like the Karma, seek to compete with Tesla's forthcoming Model Y. The new video released by Fisker shows a futuristic car that combines sleek body panels with angular details to create a visual aesthetic that is a bit more aggressive than Tesla's smooth edges (other than the Cybertruck, that is).

Not Quite Ready

Fisker has promised to begin deliveries of the Ocean crossover in 2022, according to Car and Driver, which puts the company's lead time right around, if not longer, than Tesla's initial ordering system and struggles to ramp up production on the Model 3. But the Ocean's stats should attract plenty of customers, who will be able to reserve their Ocean with a $250 deposit.

Fisker's proposed payment plan is a $379 monthly lease payment after a down payment of $2,999. The lease includes up to 30,000 miles allowed annually and also covers all maintenance and service. The full price starts at $37,499 or $29,999 with the Federal Tax Credit.
